What you are going to want to do is make sure the printer is not plugged in to your computer. You want to download the appropriate software for printer. Just go here:
http://downloads.lexmark.com/perl/downloads/downloads.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:0:0:0 Run the software for your printer and when it tells you to (or when it finishes) you can plug in your printer.
If you plugged your printer in and tried to go through the "Add New Hardware" wizard and it wasn't able to find a driver, you may need to go in to the Device Manager and remove the unknown device, unplug the printer, and re-plug it back in.
To get to the device manager in Windows XP, click "Start" then right click on "My Computer" then go to "Properties", click the "Device Manager' tab then click on "Device Manager".
To get to the device manager in Vista is going to be similar. Just right click on "Computer" and go to "Properties" and then "Device Manager"
Hope this helps!
