Question about Bosch 24 in. SMU40 Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

Bent leg We had tile installed and so we have to be able to adjust the legs by approx 1/2 in. to pull the dishwasher out. The timer went out and so we were going to replace the dishwasher, but the new one won't fit in our cabinet. So, while trying to put the Bosch back in, I guess the back leg hung up on something and bent ... can't screw it in, can't screw it out, dishwasher is out of level as it is. Questions as follows: 1) how important is it to have it level? 2) any suggestions on what to do about the leg? 3) If I need it level, and if there's not much I can do about the leg, is it feasible to rest the dishwasher on some other kind of back support so it will work right? I appreciate your help. Todd

It's hard to say what to do about the leg without seeing it. You should at least try to get something under it to get it level as possible. If not perfect, it is better to have it tilted slightly back than foreward.

How to level a samsung dishwasher?

Usually the front legs can be adjusted by just turning them. The 1 back leg (Samsungs use a tripod foot support system), is adjusted through a remote screw-type leveler that is located in the center (left-to-right) of the base, just behind the toe-kick panel.

I have a built in Hot point dishwasher that is 15 yrs old. I will be putting a ceramic tile floor down. Will I be able to pull the dishwasher out with no problem?

thank you for thinking about and asking that..i have serviced so many dishwashers where their was new flooring and they were tough to pull out..the best thing is remove the lower panel and raise the legs, and even if it is scrap from a peice of tiles that is cut slip that tile under then lower the legs so the legs will be at the same level of the floor and come out easily in the future..their is no need to even use tile mastic or grout under the dishwasher since it will be hidden by the panel

My dishwasher was installed, then wood floors added and now the height is only 33 inches. How do I get the old one out and find a new dishwasher that is 33-33 1/4 inches tall?

Take a sawzall and cut the front legs, pull the dishwasher out until the back legs hit the new wood floor and then cut those legs from the sides. It's your old dishwasher anyway, so who cares if the legs are cut off?

I have lots of first alert timers, but have lost most of the trippers. Can I order them separately? An if so, how and where?

I have not seen trippers specific to First Alert timers.
Since First Alert sells timers made by other companies, they do not show on the First Alert website.

1. Make certain the water supply valve is turned on. Check the inlet hose for any kinks or bends in the line that could prevent unit from filling properly. Check drain hose for proper installation. If water drains immediately, unit will display an IE Error Code.
2. Check the water supply valve and make certain that it is turned on and open fully or this code will display.
3. Check the inlet valve filter for buildup of mineral deposits. If the inlet valve filter is clogged it will restrict water flow is restricted into the dishwasher, resulting the IE Error. Clean filter with small brush to remove any accumulated mineral deposits that may have accumulated.
4. If inlet hose is kinked, water flow into the dishwasher, is restricted resulting the IE Error. Straighten any bends or kinks in the inlet hose. If the drain hose is not installed properly and the water drains out of unit, this could cause premature draining, which results in IE Error Code. In this case it will be necessary to reinstall the drain hose according the instructions in the installation guide.
5. If the water pressure is not 20 - 120 psi, water will not fill properly. This will result in IError Code. If water pressure is too low, it may be necessary to call for service.
6. During winter, parts of the dishwasher that are installed outside may freeze. Melt the frozen part by soaking a towel in warm water and wrapping it around the part. This should allow the dishwasher to operate.
7. If the unit is not leveled properly, the IE Error may occur. Use a level to check the sides and top of the unit. If the unit is not level, adjust the leveling feet in the front and back. Use the leveling kit packaged with the dishwasher. Check mounting brackets. If one is tightened more than the other, it will offset the cabinet.
* Note: To adjust leveling legs on the front, use a 1/4" square drive wrench. Turn clockwise as needed to adjust level. To adjust rear legs, use a standard Phillips head screw driver. On the left side rear, turn the screw counterclockwise to lower the leg and raise the rear. To adjust right side rear, turn the adjusting screw clockwise to lower the leg and raise the rear of dishwasher. Using a level while adjusting the legs will help aid in proper leveling.

I have several LS220 24 hour timers. I need 3 sets of the on/off insert tabs (as in 6@). From whom may I order them?

I don't know LS220 timer, and internet search turns up no legit information.

I suggest 4 possible solutions:

1) If this is a dial timer with segments, and you pull these segments up to set on-off times: work-around for missing segment is to switch am and pm hours. Fresh set of un-used segments exist on opposite side of dial.

2) Add a comment with clear description of timer.
I will check my files against timers that have replaceable trippers
Specific Intermatic and Tork timers have replaceable tripper parts.
Trippers are available on heavy-duty timers that generally cost more.

3) Identify your timer or similar timer on following link, and then add a comment and I will respond.

4) If this timer costs $20 or less, Buy another timer since it would be cheaper than ordering off the internet and paying S&H.
