Question about Canon BubbleJet i560 InkJet Printer

Printing Hi, I never had a problem printing with canon i560 until now. I have an old word document (4 years old) which i got from an old mac, the new mac has opened the document quite well and looks great on the screen, but it just would not be accepted by my printer. any clues?

Try different outlets and if you still don't get power then for sure the printer is bad at that point.

The printer flashes orange light five times, and green once


Probably your waste ink counter. Should be cleaned or replaced before resetting but usually you can get away with resetting once.
1. Start with printer OFF
2. Hold down RESUME and then hold down POWER
3. Release RESUME
4. press RESUME twice, then release POWER
5. let green light blink until printhead has finished moving.
6. Select functions below with RESUME, execute with POWER

0 presses - green light - Test Print (exit service for i960)
1 press - orange light - EEPROM info print
2 presses - green light - EEPROM initialise
3 presses - orange light - reset waste ink counter.

This also applies to the i550, i560, i950, i960

Canon i560 not printing, status light flashes 4 amber 1 green


4 blinks of the amber light says that the ink is empty, at least 1 cartridge is empty.

Distorted printing on i560 printer


Hi,

Double-click print centre icon.
when it opens up, select I560, then click configure.
click I560 then click select
click the down arrow to select test print.
nozzle, alignment etc...
run the tests try resolve the problem.

Canon i560 print driver for Mac OS X 10.5 (leopead)


Ruth...unfortunately you must wait on Canon to get a print driver that works.

Background: In the process of creating and publishing new operating systems Apple contacts all of the peripheral manufacturers that they have to support and gives them the interface criteria for their new operating system. In this list is printers. When the operating system is published it does not include all printers because many times the printer manufacturers don't have time to react.

One of the criteria is how good is the information that Apple gave them for the interface. Printer drivers are time-related and often are tricky to write. This sounds like the version that you have (4.83) is not a good version or may be interacting with other software combinations that only you have that weren't tested. I wouldn't be suprised if they came out with 4.84 this week.

Your best bet is to contact Canon directly with your problem and keep on them until they have it solved. Mention that your only option at this point is to buy someone else's (not Canon) printer. Every new version of a print driver is some solution to a problem that they have had in the past or a new compatibility with new operating system. Remember that Canon has limited resources and money (incentive) to fix your problem and may not be as responsive as you would like. Also, Apple is still the minority player in the operating system market (less incentive).

My solution: continue to contact Canon until you get an a fix.
- cost...your time and effort. Time to fix...???
My second solution: buy another printer (not a Canon). Make sure it is in the list that Apple (specifically Mac OS X 10.5) says they have drivers that they have tested.
- cost...$150US maybe. Time to fix...immediate.

Canon i560s printer - color problems


I changed the black ink in my printer, now it will not print everything in black!, I changed it back to the old ink, but still not printing black ink, what do I do?
