Music on an 8GB SDHC card not showing up on Zumo 450

I have used 2GB cards for a while now. I recently purchased an 8GB (Kensington) card. When I put the card in the Zumo 450 and it is attached to the USB cable on my computer, it shows up on fine on my desktop (a 2006 Intel iMac), and I can put MP3's in it and play them on the computer. But when I put the 450 on it's mount on my bike, the files do not show up in the music player. All Garmin software is up to date.
I formatted the card as a FAT32, using DiskUtility.

It will only recognize 999 songs, so if you have more MP3's than that it won't load. It also helps to put the songs in several folders on the card so that they will load up faster.

More than likely your Zumo will not recognize cards larger than 2 gb. This is not a problem with your device. They are not designed to use larger cards.

Clear it by putting in a compatible memory card. The S1030 works with SD cards. Your 8GB SDHC card in not compatible. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

I have a Pentax Kx and recently bought an 8Gb memory card. However I get a lot of blank images with the error message 'image cannot be displayed' especially if I use the continuous shooting mode....

Dear,

First of all you need to confirm that what kind of memory card your are using. The officially recommended type and brands are here

Toshiba *SD Memory Card - Capacities: 512MB to 2GB *SDHC Memory Card - Capacities: 4GB to 32GB

Panasonic *SD Memory Card - Capacities: 512MB to 2GB *SDHC Memory Card - Capacities: 4GB to 32GB

SanDisk *SD Memory Card - Capacities: 512MB to 2GB *SDHC Memory Card - Capacities: 4GB to 32GB

rather than these might be problematic or not compatible...
Check this first

Best of luck!

I have a Canon Power Shot A620 PC1145. I recently bought an 8GB SDHC card. When I put it in the camera. I got "memory card error" I was unable to do anything with it. I had hoped to take it on holiday...

The A620 works with MMC and SD cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they will not work. You need to use SD cards 2GB and smaller.

I just purchased a sandisk sdhc card 8gb memory card.how do i my camera says it is the wrong format.press ok and it will format it....i pressed the ok button and it says unable to format.can you help.

The problem is that you're using an incompatible memory card.

Your camera is designed to use SD memory cards up to a maximum 2GB capacity. Click on this link for the user manual and look at the specification on page 43 under the heading "storage".

You're trying to use an 8GB SDHC: not only is the capacity far too large for your camera to handle, but it's a later technical standard which your camera does not have the hardware for. SD and SDHC cards may look the same, but are very different "under the skin". SDHC compliant devices are backwards compatible with earlier SD cards, but SD devices like your camera cannot be updated to use SDHC cards.

Your only fix is to replace the SDHC card with an SD card of no greater than 2GB capacity.

Cant get sdhc card to format with kodak eashshare cx7430

Your camera has no support for SDHC, only SD - this in essence means you can put a maximum of 2gb card.

Good luck.

Formatting troubles for a 8gb Sandisk Micro SDHC

Hi Tony,

Have your My Computer window open and re-insert the card into the reader. If it doesn't show immediately, then right click and choose refresh. It should show up then.

Sorry for the extreme delay in answering your question: I've been trawling for old unanswered questions today and yours came up. The following answer will undoubtedly be way too late to be of use to you, but may assist others searching FixYa for an answer to the same problem.

You have been mistaking SD cards for SDHC cards. They look the same but are different, and your camera cannot use SDHC cards as it was designed before they existed. The limitation is due to the hardware in your camera so it cannot be updated to SDHC standards.

Your 2GB card was definitely an SD card as SDHC cards have a minimum capacity of 4GB, and 2GB SD cards are the maximum capacity which your camera can handle. Your only fix is to either stick to 2GB maximum capacity SD cards or to replace the camera with one which is SDHC compatible.

Sd Card reader not recognising SDHC cards

When You Insert your SD card into the internal card reader, then the SD card is not recognised by the system and the SD card drive doesn't show there. The problem can be because of driver issue, system issue and device issue.
To fix the problem you need to go at device manager if there is a yelllow sign in SD card controller, the problem is most probably caused by a driver issue. Then you need to update the driver. You can also download the driver for your card reader.
Also, check if your SD Card is broken. You can also check it into different devices port.
If it is detected then you can backup of your data.

If the problem not resolved by any means and you require you SD Card data then I will suggest you read - https://www.stellarinfo.co.in/services/removable-media-recovery.php

I don't think that these support SDHC. Basically if a product doesn't say anything about a feature, it doesn't have it.
