Auto correct messed up my previous response so I'll try again.
To change the frequency for the remote on Kitchler Barrington model IS 35170, they've made it the easiest of any I've ever seen.
All you do is this: 1. Open the remote (transmitter) and change any one of the DIP switches found inside. 2. Turn on the power to your fan 3. Press the button with the light icon on it (on the remote control) and hold it down (3 seconds or so) until the light on the fan flashes 3 times which confirms your new setting has been accepted.
Hey there, how's it going? Do you know which model of ceiling fan you have? Whether you do or don't, that's OK - I was going to suggest checking out this site below which has Kichler fan manuals available. If you don't find the one you need, let us know and we'll take a look for you through some other sites.
THIS ITEM NUMBER IS INCORRECT. THERE SHOULD BE ATLEAST 1 MORE NUMBER FOLLOWED BY A COUPLE OF LETTERS. IF YOU CAN POSSIBLY FIND THE CORRECT NUMBER I CAN HELP BY GETTING YOU A PART NUMBER FOR THE CORRECT REMOTE THAT WILL BE NEEDED. PART NUMBERS ON FANS ARE CONSISTENTLY FOUND ON THE CANOPY, THIS IS THE PART WHERE YOUR FAN MOUNTS TO THE CEILING. I CALLED OUR REP AT KICHLER AND SHE SAID THIS WAS AN INCOMPLETE NUMBER. HOW OLD IS THE FAN IN QUESTION? ITS POSSIBLE IT MAY BE DISCONTINUED IS WHY WE CANT COME UP WITH ANYTHING.
Stock Kichler ceiling fan c. 2006, works with replacement remote control 337001WH hand-held unit from Amazon 2013. Started running backwards when two remotes were activated at the same time by accident. Random button pushing on two remotes simultaneously got it to go back to forward. (Apparently original remote hand-held transmitter had forward/reverse setting, but the substitute 337001WH transmitter doesn't. When two transmitters run at the same time, the fwd/rev code may be decoded in the collisions at the receiver. Thank goodness!)
The only thing I can think of other than being just old and worn out is that by design it may not be set to run but so much at a time. Has this always done this since you have had it? It may be needing calibration. One thing you can try is to set it at 2 degrees higher than you want it and then it would shut off at the temp you actually want.
