Mine did the same.  It was the CCD, which is under a recall program.  Go to and give them a call and they will fix it for free (even free shipping!)

How do i access my Sony vaio webcam

Sony's Vaio laptop computer line includes the company's Motion Eye webcam and ArcSoft WebCam Companion software for Vista and Windows 7 operating systems. Located in the LCD screen's upper bezel, the webcam is positioned at face-level when seated at the computer and automatically tracks movement to keep subjects within the lens's field of view.

1.Click on the "Start" menu at the bottom left corner of your screen, choose "All Programs" at the bottom of the menu just above the search box.
2.Scroll through the program list until "ArcSoft WebCam Companion" is located. Alternatively, you may type "WebCam Companion" in the search box to locate the program.
3.Click on the WebCam Companion icon to open the program. The program window will open, offering choices of Capture, Record, Monitor and Edit. Capture is used to take still pictures individually or in a series, Record is used to record videos, Monitor records videos when motion is detected and Edit allows editing of previously recorded videos.
4.Choose the webcam function you wish to use by clicking the icon. The appropriate screen will open, activating the webcam and displaying the camera view on-screen. The on-screen view will display what is within the field of the webcam lens, allowing you to adjust the LCD screen or your position before beginning webcam functions.
5.Click the webcam function according to the mode you have chosen. Functions in Capture mode include Capture or Burst, Record in the Record mode, Monitor in the Monitor mode and Snap Shot or Edit Video in Edit mode. When you have completed your webcam activity, the program automatically saves your video or snap shot within the program to be accessed, viewed or edited at a later time.

I hope you find it very helpful. Thank you for using

My kodak easyshare C143 lost the sound when I make video.. Can you help me?

Your camera hasn't lost anything. It's a very basic and cheap model which is primarily a digital stills camera. Although it can record video, it does not have the hardware to record audio.

You get what you pay for and so having a very rudimentary video recording function keeps the price down and makes sure that the primary camera function is still satisfactory.

Your fix, if you want sound with your video, is to either get a dedicated video camera or to get a more advanced digital stills camera with full video and audio capability.

Composite output has ghosting around the video (sort of an auro around all images on screen, including text and video). dvd menu also has this problem, so i verified that it is the output of the recorder...

Try reducing your sharpness value on either your TV or the player if applicable. Also disable any edge enhancement or "DVE" modes on the TV if applicable.

The easiest way to adjust sharpness control by the naked eye is with a calibration disc. Alternatively however, just for sharpness if you have a screen full of text and/or lines do the following;

Reduce your color/saturation value all the way down...this will make the picture black and white.

Then reduce your sharpness control until the "ghosting" effect or any additional white lines on text edges and line edges disappear.
Then you can return your color/saturation value back to normal.

Hope this helps!

My video recording function works fine, but when on camera mode , the pictures turn out white or with a bunch of lines through them. I've tried changing all adjustments as far as color , etc. Still same...

The issue here is with the CCD sensor inside witch gave out on you, what you might want to do is have a shop replace it due to the delicate eletronics inside would be your best bet.

My pict from s500 show white lines, but that is nothing problem when use to recorder/cam record & candleligt fiture.

Unfortunately the shutter motor is broken, so normal pictures will be over-exposed. If you use it as a recorder or candlelight function the shutter mechanism doesn't need to work because the shutter is always open.
Fix that problem is very difficult, unless you get a new lens block.
Hope this helps,

How do i hook up dvd recorder/vcr to my tv?

If its a combined dvd/vcr unit you should be able to record on the dvd input from the vcr with a 3 split cord connected as described below..

Video output - yellow.
Audio output - left and right - red & white.

Video input - yellow.
Audio input - left and right - red & white.

Or you might have to use a standared RF cable from the
antenna out on the video to the antenna in on the DVD.

Additional information....

Just as you can't copy commercially made video tapes to another VCR due to Macrovision anti-copy encoding, the same applies to making copies to DVD. DVD recorders cannot bypass the anti-copy signal on commercial VHS tapes or DVDs. If a DVD recorder detects the anti-copy encoding on a commercial DVD it will not start the recording and display some sort of message either on screen or on its LED front panel display that it detects the anti-copy code or that it is detecting an unusable signal.
A DVD recorder can be used to copy any homemade videos, such as camcorder videos and videos made from TV shows, and can also copy Laserdiscs, and other non-copyprotected video material. Also, remember that a DVD recorder also has a built-tuner for recording TV programming directly. The tuner can be programmed to record a series of programs on different days and times, much like a VCR. However, if you are recording a non-copy protected DVD to a DVD recorder you can record any of the video content, provided you click on the menu and start the video segments running and you have enough time space on the disc. DVD recorders function like VCRs in that they can record incoming video signals -- however, they do not automatically copy all the contents of the DVD - for instance, you cannot copy the interactive menu functions of a non-copy protected commercial DVD. A DVD recorder creates its own menu functions, it will not duplicate the function menu from a another DVD.

Hope this will help you.

Record button doesn't function

You may want to check the record lockout safety switch located on the tape. This button can get moved by accident and the camera will refuse to record on that tape. Also, be sure the camera is in "video" mode, not "photo" mode. Some of Canons camcorders have a digital still camera mode which stops the camcorder from functioning because the photos are being recorded to a memory card and not your tape, please check this swithc as well. Good luck. Joe Weibel
