Question about Sony KV-32XBR450 32" TV

SONY TV FROM FLORIDA

I received this 32" tv from my parents who live in Florida. I live in Michigan. I hooked it up to my cable (not hdtv cable) and every channel is blury and has a trail. It almost looks like you need to adjust the hue, but we have done all those settings. Nothing makes any difference. The TV is a 2001 model. It is hooked up through my dvd/vhs player. I had a TV guru hook it up for me, which he has done with all our TV's. I guess it's possible it was damaged in the moving van, but first I thought I'd check with you guys. My guru says I dont need HDTV cable for this 2001 model, as the older models would be fine with either. Should I call my cable company? My guru did all the trouble shooting through the process of elimination. We hooked it up with another DVD player, no difference, We used another TV, worked good. We changed all the cable cords, and made no difference. It comes right down to that TV. I hope you have some ideas as to how I can fix this beautiful TV. Thanks, Maryruth

Trying to hook up Phillips DVD player and have 3 coaxial cables that need to be hooked into Sony TV and I have 14 holes for cables-help!

Don't use co-axial cables buy HQ SCART Gold Plated Ribbon cables with full 21pins then hook up the AV out of the DVD player into one of the AV in on the TV.

When you turn your player on it will autoselect the correct AV (audio visual) channel on the TV.

I have a 32 in sony trinitron and i do not know

You need a matching transformer, or 'balun'.

Any home electronics store will have these. $3-$5.

Now, if this TV does not have a cable connector on the back, there is a good chance you will not be able to receive many of the channels (not a cable-ready TV).

Are they HD compatible? We recently upgraded our cable on our 32 inch Sony Trinitron Wega tv (bought it in 2004) and got the dvr/HD package but get no HD channels...help??

These units are not HD sets. So if you want HD sorry to say you will need a different TV. If you can live without the HD these TVs have a great picture thats as close to HD as a regular set gets.

Sony Wega TV --24F... does it need a converter?

No. all flat screens have converter chip built in.
If you are having problems getting channels, make sure you go to the settings, and broadcast settings, and make sure it is on AIR for regular tv, or CATV for cable.

Sony Trinitron Tv

Dear sammy5,
Stop by any TV repair shop in your area, and ask to borrow a used original Sony remote, they may require a small deposit; access the menu, perform your set up, then return it. Or you could buy a universal Sony remote from Walmart that should work just fine, for about. $7.00.

Hope this helps.
