Both Gauges stay at same pressure when trying to adjust outlet pressure to tools

Both Gauges max out at the same pressure which is 150 Lbs. When turning the adjustment knob on Regulator to adjust correct outlet pressure for the air tools, both Gauges drop at same rate and to same level. Don't know if I can dismantle the Regulator and fix but I'd like to try if possible.

After repairs or just started doing it?
Regulator may be installed backwards or pressure gages in the wrong ports.
I hope you are not operating the compressor's cut off adjustment by mistake.

It seems like you might be adjusting a valve before the regulator. the outlet pressure from the compressor vessel should remain celatively constant. if you are adjusting the pressure whilst using the airtool and when you stop the regulator gauges return to/or close to/ the 150 PSI then this also points to you not adjusting the regulator.
Some compressors have 2 outlets... one regulated and the other not.

SOURCE: press. switch won't shut off motor when reaching cut-out pressure

IF THE SWITCH WILL NOT SHUT IT DOWN ITS NOT WIRED CORRECTLY, THE POINTS IN THE SWITCH ARE WELDED TOGETHER AND WONT RELEASE OR THE LINE UNDER THE SWITCH IS CLOGGED

SOURCE: tank will not build pressure beyond 25 lbs. Just runs

IS YOUR AIR FILTER CLOGGED. SOUNDS LIKE THE VALVES IN YOUR HEAD ARE NOT CLOSING ALL THE WAY. THEY ARE MOST LIKELY REED VALVES, THIN STRIPS OF METAL THAT OPEN AND CLOSE WHEN THE PISTON MOVES. MAKE SURE THEY ARE CLOSING ALL THE WAY (NOT CARBONED UP). DID YOU REMOVE THE HEAD AND DID YOU PUT BACK LIKE YOU FOUND IT - NOT TURNED OR FLIPPED OVER. SEE IF YOUR FINGER WILL GET SUCKED UP TO THE INTAKE HOLE.

The compressor valve may have a faulty gasket or seal, and maybe leaking air internally. Or the compressor might be going downhill. You can try to replace the valve seal and see if that makes a difference, otherwise you need to replace the compressor.

SOURCE: Low air pressure

This sounds like it is either the pump is leaking from the piston or more commonly, the rubber seal that seals the outlet tube to the cylinder head blew out like mine. Let me guess, it got a lot louder than it was originally? The seals are readily available from sears parts direct, its like 3 bucks but shipping is around $8. Hope this helped

Air compressor won't cut off after it reaches max psi

Most pressure cut off switches have an adjustment screw on them where you can dial in the cut off/turn on pressures. Take a look and see if you have the adjustment screws. If you have the switch model, you can try looking up online to see how to make these adjustments.

Had too much r134a in 2010 civic, then STOPPED working. Is it Thermal expansion valve?

The pressure is off, keeping the system from running. It needs to be adjusted by a professional with the proper tools and manufacturers info.

Why would the pressure gauges on a Ryobi 2050 air compressor stop working?

Gage either works or doesn't work for whatever reason. Any person near the compressor should have a better reason if the person witnessed any incident with cause for Gage failure.
Is air pressure available at the air outlet?
Is there two or one Gage?
Is a pressure regulator on it and has the regulator adjustment knob been loosened?

Regulator Problem. Both Gauges stay at same pressure when trying to adjust the outlet pressure for tool settings

It sounds like a contaminated regulator, possibly due to moisture if you have never drained the tank. If it is a cheap air compressor then the best course of action would be to install another regulator as it is not worth the time to try to rebuild the regulator as most likely it is not a quality part. I would look into Wilkerson or Speedair brand parts to fix your issue.

I don't know what that adjustment knob is supposed to do or what the two dials mean.

The knob adjusts the outlet air pressure. One gauge shows tank pressure and the other is your outlet pressure. The pressure is changed by turning the knob (generally counter-clockwise to reduce pressure) Pressure requirements differ depending on the tools you are running. Most air tools will list a Maximum Operating Pressure on them or in the manual.

No air on tools side

Hi, Between the two gauges is the regulator adjusting knob. Turn this until you see the pressure rise on the tool side gauge. You can also test for a rise in pressure in the air hose by connecting a blow gun, and pressing the trigger as you make adjustments. If you cannot raise the pressure with the regulator, it is probably bad.

Air in rear shocks

Depending on your weight and if you carry a passenger as to the air pressure. I normally run about 14 but 24 if riding 2 up.
Recommended pressures:
up to 150 lbs- 0
each addition 25 rider pounds > 150 lbs add 1.0 lbs
each additional passenger pounds > 150 lbs add 1.5 lbs
each additional 10 lbs of laggage add 3.0 lbs
Max Pressure 35 psi
