3Com ISDN lan Modem-Model 3C892

I just purchased this 3com modem new. I have hooked everything up as stated in the instructions. When I pull my web browser to get the wizard to set SPID numbers and access controls, it just says "page not found". Thats just the problem, Im not running IE 3.1, I have IE 7, I also am not running Win95, I have XP home. and when i try to connect to the modem through, absolutly nothing happens, it is connected, and it is powered up. But all it does is cycle. nothing more nothing less. Please help. Thanks.

Fixya offers advice to DIY people. With something like you are talking about, it would not be easy because of parts, and manufacturing processes. Also it might cost more to have it repaired than to get a new one.

Your modem in your computer is the 56K (telephone not broadband)
For your Local Area Network you want the network drivers. It will not harm anything if you download drivers for the modem or network because when you set up your local network it will internally switch of the modem and use the network.
Do the Broadcom -LAN and the Conexant -Modem

Power supply for 3Com U.S. Robotics fax modem.

You need 9V/1A supply (with +9V at center pin) for your model with beige case. Do not use 22V/1.5A supply for old 33.6k model with
gray case. The shapes of the cases are very similar (56k has fever
leds, no external volume control, and no connectors for external
telephone equipment and external speaker), but the power supply
voltages and currents are completely different.
I hope this will help.

Hi there

I think up to now you've been using someone else's Internet service, by picking up the signal wirelessly. You need your own Internet Service. You now connect your access point in the way the Internet Service Provider guide you. It is a different set up with cable (they provide a modem) or with BT (connection through your phone line).
