SOURCE: I have a 2hp black and decker circular saw. Went

If the motor is 3 phase (which it may be if it is 2 HP) , it will run backwards if 2 of the wires are traded position. You may have changed the wires in the plug if you replaced a plug.

SOURCE: My black and decker, circular saw, blade moves

Some things like this we have to improvise. Possibly a filler washer can be used. It is not clear if the shaft end play is what you have, or the blade clamping washers allow the movement. If it is the blade clamping, possibly there is a burr on the washer that prevents the proper mating of the clamping washers.

If it is shaft end play, then try to use a fiber type washer to fill the gap.

SOURCE: How can I change the circular saw in my Back &

Unplug it and loosen the bolt in the middle of the blade. It's a standard thread, so turn it lefty-loosey. But you need to hold the blade from turning. That's easy by putting a screwdriver in front of a blade tooth, under the sole plate. Let the sole plate prevent the screwdriver from rising up with the blade as you turn the bolt. If your current blade has small teeth (like a plywood blade) then you can raise the sole plate as for a maximum depth of cut, then push the saw against the front edge of a workbench (or block of wood somehow held still) as if you were going to cut it. Before you remove the bolt, take note of the exact orientation of the washer (or washers)so you can replace them the same way.

My black a nd decker circular saw just stopped functioning midway inuse

It is hard to say at this distance what is wrong. If it is oldish, the motor brushes may be worn down. It could be that a wire has come loose from a terminal in it, or a contact has broken in the on/off switch assembly. All those things have happened to me at one time or another.

I have used my CS1030L in a while. When I tried to use it, it was smoking.

This could possibly be down to the material you are cutting is a hard substance or possibly that the blade needs renewing, check to see if the tips are broken, missing , or worn?? That is 2 possible reasons unless the smoke is coming from out the motor?

Bought my black and decker circular saw in july 2009 stopped working and still has warranty Ace hardware where I puchased the saw will not exchange saw says I need to send it to the company but, I didn't...

you would need to send it to a Dewalt service center or any authorized Dewalt service center for warranty repair, The exchange period is usually 30 days. If you need to give me your city, state and zip and I will try and find one close to you.

Not cutting right - or at all

Depending on how much use the saw has gotten over the years the problem could be a very dull blade, worn out motor brushes, or a nearly worn out motor. The danger is that a power tool that is not working as it should is much more hazardous than a newer saw that is working properly.
