All pictures turn out blurry red

    I have the same problem, There are vertical lines and the screen is all red

    I had the same problems that I noticed on Xmas day, but my spirits were lifted when I Googled the problem and arrived at your site. It was great to see that others were having the same problem and that Sony would repair free of charge. Thanks for posting this on your site!

    I 12/25/07 I turned on my DSC-F717 and had no image, anywhere, just a blank screen. Reset all my options, charged battery, reset camera, still no image. E-Mailed Sony Customer Support today. Can't wait to see what they say! This class-action lawsuit should be forever. Too expensive of a camera for a book-end.

    Hi,



    Same thing happened to me. I checked the camera before leaving for a party and all was fine. An hour later when I went to use it all I had was a red blur.

    It seems Sony now charges $15.00 to send the camera back.

Blurry image on camera mode is problem of defective CCD imager and required replacement.

Sony will repair your DSC-F717 free of cost as per announced scheme of CCD imager problem in few models and DSC-F717 is in list.
