Try removing the power for a couple of minutes then turn it back on.

Indoor antenna, connected to new converter box, connected to 1999 Zenith Combo TV. But all I get on the TV screen is Aux in the upper right-hand corner.

How do you have it hooked up, by coax, or RCA jacks! If coax Put TV on 3 or 4 if RCA Yellow, red, white jacks! ,make sure the yellow is in video in to TV and video out on box! both the box and TV jacks are color coded just match them up! but if You have in and out jacks on the TV, like I said make sure the yellow plug from box goes to to TV video in! One last thing, The TV could have more then one aux plugins, make sure TV is set to right one with your remote! Good Luck! Regards!

Can't a wired head set to work on this TV!!

The head set won't work on the aux the aux is for an input such as a mp3 player or phone . The tv should have it's own jack it will say headphones or have a picture of headphones on it just plug the headphones into the jack plug and you should get sound

Celestial HD Digital Television Receiver DVB8800HD

Normally, there are 2 ways to hook these devices up. One is the component cable that has 3 colors, red white and yellow. these color codes match an aux. input on the TV (or vid1 or vid2) You need to change the TV input to whichever you used by the remote or maybe under Ch2 (4,3,2,vid2, vid1, aux,111,110,etc) The other way is to use the round 4-5 pin S-video instead of the yellow jack, that is self explanetory. The 3rd way and this depends on your TV and receiver is to use the HDMI, composite or DVI cable connection. These are only for Hi def players and will be either a large multi-pinned computer type plug, 5 colored/lead "octopus" cable, or a smaller D shaped high density cable with the row of contacts inside the plug. In any case you need to tell the TV which input you are using.
Once you get the TV to show a picture of the receiver, then you autoprogram the receiver with the remote under setup or other menu.

We had a lightning strike in the area with resultant power outage. The set top box is not working and doesn't respond to switching off and or removing plugs from wall for over 5 mins. The LED display...

Lightning is an indiscriminate killer of electronic equipment it can attack multiple areas of electronic circuits. set top boxes are for the most part a computer and data is collected thru an antenna and transmitted back to your set. lightning can enter the box in multiple ways thru the antenna or the AC or both. It would not be worth persueing a repair on this just replace it. if you had other equipment damage then check with your home owners policy for the replacement of all the equipment damaged.

I have an Sharp Aquos flat screen tv and it is randomly 'blacking' out. The picture dissapears but there is still sound and i can still use the remote. I have it hooked up through a set top box, but there...

If the unit is still under warranty take it back for refund or replacement. If your tv is not under warranty, then you have a problem with the inverter board or the bulbs (ccfl) are bad. I have seen the inverter board and the bulbs be bad. Good luck to ya!

Line accross top of the screen with flashing black and white boxes

Thin white dashes on top of screen is PERFECTLY NORMAL. It is nothing wrong with the TV, it is the broadcast. What you are seeing is the very bottom of the timecode running. It doesn't happen all of the time or all channels. It usually happens with old 4:3 commercials predating "Digital TV." This is mentioned in your Users Manual. You should be able to adjust the horizontal/vertical position in the menu settings.

No signal on screen in VCR mode

I assume your plasma set has one or more auxillary (component) inputs, and to one of these is where you should hook in the VCR. You will have a video input jack, and a set of audio input jacks (probably 2 for stereo) for each of these aux. input sets. While exact setups differ, depending on your cable box(es), DVD players, and whatever other equip., a likely hookup is from the VCR video & audio outputs to one set of the aux. inputs on the plasma set. When you want to use the VCR for playback, you must select that particular aux. input with the plasma remote. Some of the hookups these days get complicated by all the equip. some have, but the above is at least a start. Thanks
