Whirlpool GR396LXGQ 0 Self Cleaning Oven

Oven wouldn't heat, EO -F3-, changed out the oven temp. sensor, starting heating, but kicked off after a couple of minutes. Sent it through a whole 3.30 hour self clean. worked the whole time. (could see both elements lit, and produced much heat). tried again, same thing, kicks off after preheat couple of minutes into cook time, or if no pre heat, kicks off a couple of minutes into back cycle. Broiler seems to work fine.

That's an oven sensor error. Replace the oven sensor. If you still have the error, check the wiring and/or replace the timer/clock board.

Have you tried pulling the connectors off the control board and reinserting them. If you still have problems the control board could be the issue.

Whirlpool GR396LXGQ oven comes on by itself & goes into clean cycle, code reads E2 -F3-
Whirlpool F3 faults relate to temperature problems in the oven. In the case of the error E2-F3, F3 is the general fault code and E2 is the specific error code. An E0-F3 error indicates that the oven's temperature sensor is open; E1-F3, that the temperature sensor is shorted; E2-F3, that the oven temperature has exceeded the maximum rated 575 degrees Fahrenheit in "Cook" mode; and E3-F3, that the oven temperature has exceeded the maximum rated 950 degrees Fahrenheit in the clean mode. Had an error code F3E2 show up on the screen
F3-E2 Oven over heat. Replace Sensor

0ae81cf.jpgOven sensor should measure around 1100 ohms.
Oven sensors should not be grounded. Continuity from frame to either sensor wire is a bad sensor.

Thanks for using FixYa. Error F3 in your range/oven means oven temperature sensor circuit failure. To resolve this issue you’ll have to check the oven temp. sensor circuit if the reading is more then 1100ohms then it should be replaced however, if the rating is fine then it is the Electronic Range Control (ERC) that has gone bad & should be replaced. HI, you oven temp sensor if malfunctioning. the circuit is open. its basically dead. Check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok.
