AW0/D4505 SERVICE LIGHT COME ON AND MACHINE NOT WORKING
Problem for Zanussi ZWF12070 Front Load Washer
Cycle starts, continual humming, no wash, no movement, just humming noises. Have to stop the wash.

Washing machine starts whirring as though it is starting a cycle, but thats as far as it gets. It whirs and churns as though it is filling, but it does this continually until I have to turn it off incase it burns itself out.
Have drained through emergency pump at bottom, have checked waste pipe, have re-filled with water and tried a fresh cycle, but it just hums and does absolutely nothing. What can be wrong? I've tried the troubleshooting page in the booklet but to no avail.

- Hithanks for your help. the washing machine isn't filling with water from the main supply. I left the washing machine switched off overnight to try and rectify the problem, but still wouldn't work this morning. the manual said to try and fill the machine through the fabric powder drawer with 2 litres of water, and run the eco cycle at 95C, tried this still nothing happens. the machine just hummed and vibrated but didn't fill, didn;t wash, move or anything. None of the settings work, spin, drain, etc. could this be the same problem as you just described?

If it hums from start, and it is filling fine from inlet valve, then the problem is usually timer control board or motor control unit board/motor failure.
If it gets stuck on filling forever, check also the pressure switch.
Parts must be tested before replacement.

- If the machine does not fill and keeps humming from start of the cycle, this can be because of a faulty inlet valve. The valve solenoid has blown and the valve keeps humming and cycle does not proceed.The inlet valve must be tested befor replacement, as a faulty timer control board will cause the same problem.
