Re: have epson pos thermal printer with wrong interface

Try an adapter (RS232db9 to RS232db25) Connect the db9 to the computer.

RS232 and Centronics interfaces are incompatible. You need to connect the printer to a SERIAL port not a PARALELL

Epson TM 88II not working with Win XP SP2

Are you confident this is using a parallel interface?

The ones I used to work with used a 25pin to 9pin serial connection. The 25 pin connection on the printer is the same as a parrallel port on a PC, but if you think of a normal parallel lead the printer should use a 'centronics' connector to conform to this. I think you may need a 25pin to 9pin serial lead which aren't very common but plenty of people should still make them.

I am currently printing to A4, do I need to create a new invoice format for the thermal printer on my accounting package, or will the new printer refomat automatically?

In Attache, you find the Setup tab, and go to Cash Register, and the POS TAB.
There you can select a Thermal printer from a list. When selected,
it allows you to choose which fields you want to display, and it
shows you which columns the printer will display.

Unfortunately, my client doesn't want to use the 'Cash Register'
part of Attache, but wants to use the Thermal Printer with
the 'normal' Attache interface. This appears to be impossible,
as only the normal printers appear. With the normal Attache interface
there are too many fields to display on a mini receipt.

I appreciated your help with this.
