Power problems with my kdc-x789

My kdc-x789 was professionally installed with sirius satelite radio. It stopped working a couple weeks ago. When I take the face off I can see the red light blinking and when the face is attached I can eject the cd but thats it. No red light on the front and no display. Any suggestions?

Re: Power problems with my kdc-x789

This happened recently to me and I disconnected all power (two sources, I removed two car fuses labled "radio 1" and "radio 2"), then when I returned power it was like magic, it worked again!

It should be taken back to the installer.

The radio says it's Satellite ready, but when I hit the search button I do not get a Satellite option. When I called Sirius/XM to switch service from one car to another, they said that I must now also...

No it is satellite ready, meaning you need to add atuner to the stereo, but you can use the stereo to control the tuner. Again, a seperate tuner will need to be bought and installed. Good Luck.

Kenwood Kdc-mp425 will not switch to Aux. Aux cable is connected to the back of the headunit, but no aux option is available on menu for either my ipod touch or my sirius unit. I've accessed the menu from...

Apparently, this auxiliary input only works for a Kenwood CD changer or a sirius radio connection. At least that is my conclusion after finding the same problem. Let me know if you figured anything out on this.

Tuner error

Use a multimeter to check for connectivity to the sirius. Where did you mount the antenna? Maybe its a reception problem? Sounds like the head unit is going bad. Try shutting it down, and take the pace plate off, let it reboot and see if it works. Check to see if the Tuner is unplugged.

Unlocking radio

I have this problem almost everytime I have to do it.  It's such a rare occasion.  If I remember correctly, just press and hold the key that moves you to the next number... the >>| key, I believe.  After a couple seconds it'll beep & open up (provided you have the correct code).
