The screen works but does not light up. Everything else works and even the keypads light up.
Is it cause i haven't put enough solder on or is the flexi ribbon broke?
I have purchased a Corded Speakerphone with caller ID, Digital Answerer and Call Waiting. The Caller ID comes up but does not light up. Is there anything else that I need to do ? I checked the manuel thoroughly, but do not see any instructions for the caller ID lightup.

sir, i think the problem is the LCD, did you clean it after after it feel into the water? if not just open your phone using the screw then clean it with the thinner...

when you turn on your phone and the screen is white' even you restarts and nothing change' make sure that your phone is can recieve and you can make a call' the prob. is the flex ribbon of your phone, there is a flex connected in the LCD to the board' or the machine. D500 phone always having this prob, all sliding and flip phone having this prob.
by replacing the flex ribbon' you can solve your prob.
