Just rec'd a new Garmin 350. My current location is Kansas even though I am in Mass. How can I get the system to recognize where I am. I've turned it off and on many times but it still thinks I'm in Kansas

Some towns are known by two different names; for example: Orange Park/Flemming Island, Florida. Zip is 32003 for both. Porter Ranch/Northridge, California. Zip is 91326. Try either entering the alternate name (if their is one) or just the zip code...Hope this works...It solved my problem...Jim
Take the unit outside and turn it on. Then select View Maps, at the top of the screen it will say either "Locating satellites" or "Acquiring Satellites". Once the garmin has locked onto the overhead satellites, then it will say "Ready to Navigate".
Locating Satellites take longer than Acquiring Satellites.
Verify that you have the correct basemap for the country that you are in. There are two maps inside a new Garmin. The basemap which shows all the major highways and mapsource which shows all the street. If you don't have the correct basemap try changing 'Navigation' Advoidance to avoid highways and Toll Roads.
