Question about Frigidaire PLEF398AC Electric Kitchen Range

1 Answer

Doubel element right front element is a two in one. Large or small. When turned on, only large heats, despite direction of the temp control. I switched temp control with left side bridge element control (same part) - same results. I've checked the wiring schematic carefully and it seems ot be correct (this unit has had several repairs in the past). Is this a control board or element problem. Thanks

Re: doubel element

If only the outer ring of the element is getting hot then the element is bad. The elements should have a 5 yr warranty that covers the part only so check your owners manual.

Why won't my large element on my Kenmore 790.96214404 turn on?

It would take some testing with a volt-ohm meter to know for sure, but it sounds like your element has burned out. It could be inside the little box attached to the element, so you can't see it.

Frigidaire stove front large/small burner combination. Large burner works but the small burner in the centre of the large burner does not come on at all with any heat. ??

This is a inner/outer burner type assembly? Sounds like a glass top.
Either way, your switch for that burner or the burner needs to be replaced.
If you are able and it is possible, inter change switches to see if it makes a difference. Interchange Large with large, small with small.
If yous switches are connected as one unit, you will not be able to do this. Sorry, I have not looked up your wiring diagram.

Right front burner only works on "small element". Large element will not come on. Do i need a new burner?

Hi Will Lawler - If the small element turns on but the large element does not, then more than likely, the range has a faulty burner or switch. If I was in your position, I would personally contact a professional for an accurate diagnosis and to assist with the repairs.

I have a Viking Dual Fuel Range. The large oven

if your elements are exposed and not hidden, check to see is there is food particles may be baked on the element, you might need a new element, cheap to purchase yourself and install if handy

Large electric burners not working on lowest "LO" setting

Unplug the range and remove the problem elements.
With a flashlight, look inside the element receptacle for burned or disfigured terminals.
If they are damaged they can be replaced.
If the element terminals are OK you have defective switches.

Small burner of dual surface(right front) stopped working.

Does yours have the (small large burner switch)? If so, try switching it back and forth. It could be defective or your small burner element is bad.

Burners won't stay heated

if you are using the range to do general ever day cooking then if the units are cutting of you could have and infinate control that is bad cutting the element off before the temp heats up the element, you also could have an element sensor that is turning off the element before it gets to the temp that you are wanting.
a volt meter and a wiring diagram is a must to find out what is wrong
