Problem with Samsung HT-X40 System

Overheating too fast.

my samsung ht-x40 home theatre system keeps overheating even when i move it away from other elctronic devices and when i put it in well ventilated areas. I know its something wrong with the system itself. Is there anyway i can get it fixed? My warranty expired too.

    • no thats not it i already cleaned the fan and made sure it was turning but it still heats up really fast and turns off :(

    • My system always cuts out after about 45 mins. when playing a DVD. It runs much longer if we are just using it for sound.


      The fan on the back never turns, so it is overheating. I pulled the fan out and powered it with a small battery pack, the fan runs fine. It would seem something on the board is messed up as it never turns on the fan.

There's a cooling fan on the back. Is it clogged up or otherwise not turning when hot? From Page 21...
