I have a Scandisk Cruzer Micro 4 GB. I just bought it and have put it into two computers. Copied data from first computer and then dragged to second computer. Now when I put the drive into the first computer nothing happens. My computer recoginzes that there is something attached, but when I click on the drive, a message pops up saying to insert disk. So I can't access my drive. Any suggestions.

When initially inserting the usb the computer recognises it. However, when attempting to save something to it, it is not being recognised.

I want to transfer the data from 2 small folders on my Dell 8W007-A01 drive (Optiplex) to my Toshiba laptop. Who would do this for me (and what would it cost)? Thanks Chris

You can do this yourself
Insert the disk into a working computer's CD drive and copy the folders onto an USB flash drive, then insert the USB flash drive into your Toshiba and copy the folders off the USB flash drive onto your Toshiba.

I have a PNY 4GB high speed USB Drive. I want to

Well, the easy way would be to do this

But if you want to use the USB drive just insert it into an open USB port
  1. click Start
  2. click My Computer
  3. Select the USB drive from the list of connected drives
  4. Click and drag the files from their location to the USB drive
To get them to the other computer follow steps 1-3, then click and drag them from the USB drive to their new location.

Usb stick not usable

Because its beyond 4Gb that's why its already detected as a disk drive.

You can still save your files here. Have you already tried?

If so, what is the exact error you are getting?

If you have a USB port on the back of computer plug it in there. Or use USB extension if it is uneasy for you to plug your pen drive from time to time. From there you can hook up your pen drive much easy.

1. Download this tool:

2. Format

(WARNING: After running this low level format tool,
the whole USB flash disk surface will be fully erased.
Therefore, data restoration will be impossible after using this utility!)

Toshiba 2 gb flash drive showing 0 disk space

You can only format these drives in mode FAT16 or FAT32.
Try to format it in FAT32 mode and let Windows choose the default sectors for you. This is the better solution.
As I can see, the operating system recognise your drive that mean the correct driver was loaded.
After a new format whith the correct params if your flash drive shows the same thing 0 disk space 0 disk space used, your drive is DEAD.
It happens if you had unplug your flash drive whithout stoping it by cliking on the icon in the notification window (near the clock), the icon is mini drive whith a green arrow. Allways unplug the USB devices by this because you have the +5 voltage on this connector and if you don't do this an arcking effect happens betwen your device and the connector.

Usb flash pen drive

Often it is due to electrostatic charges on usb. Unplug all USBs.Unplug PC from power cable for 10/15/ minutes. plug back computer to power outlet and restart. Plug back usb.
If it still does not work , flash memory may be faulty, test it on a different computer.
