If anyone can help me. I have an xbox 360. My nephews have been playing on it without much supervision. It used to work fine in terms of shutting down and starting, however now when you go to turn everything off from the controller, the console shuts down but not the controller? Could anybody please shed some light as to how to fix this problem.
I have rerun the set up again, but no luck. I have tried to find somewhere in the setup menu where there is a setting of some sort that seems to be adjusted, but it makes no difference.
I am stumped as to what they have done. So now when I want to turn my console on I have to turn it on via the power button. I now have to turn my controller off by taking the battery power off. I know this is not the right way of doing it.
do you try and get a new controller and then trying to turn it off and on

-   No. I have two existing controllers.
WHAT USEDTO HAPPEN: This is how they used to work. From the controller I used to push the centre button (green x button - next to the start button) and it used to turn the power on the console on as well as the controller. I'd play a game, then to turn it off I'd push the same button (green x button next to start) and the option menu used to come up (switch off controller or console etc) when I select turn off console my controller used to power off as well as the controller. which as great, job done.
NOW WHAT HAPPENS: Now in order for me to play a game I have to push the power button on the console on and then push the centre green button on the controller seperately. Play a game then push the centre green button on my controller, select the option to turn off the console, which it does, but the controller stays on. So to turn the controller off I have to take the battery pack off or let the batteries die out. How did this happen and how do i get it back to how it used to work?
I hope that makes it a little clearer. If it doesnt let me know where and I'll try and clarify. Can you help?
you may want to try synchronizing the controller one more, next to the controller slot there is a small button, and on the controller you should see another one just between the LB and RB, press the one on the controlkler first and then th one on the xbox

My tv is not getting a signal from my xbox. I think it may be the av cords that I have, but over the past few weeks I have seen my xbox freeze several times and leave a checkered display on my tv. Now when I turn it on, I get red rings and no audio/video.
