You need to go to the manufacturers web site and download the most recent firmware. Then you can update it.

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

My acer aspire one won't turn on (no lights) after doing firmware flash. When i plug in the power cord sometimes the battery status and power light flashes on.

Try accessing the vendor's page from another computer, saving the firmware update from there and then upgrading yours from a powerup, possibly using a CD as the USB device won't be powered yet, of course.

Wont boot 2 windows xp home when 2 gig memory installed, works with 1 gig, tried both slots with both 1 gig sticks.Screen goes black.

Seems the memory is not comatable with the motherboard. Replace the old memory and visit http://www.crucial.com, they have a scanner tool which will confirm what mem can be installed.

I'm want to get rid of that "go to philips.com to register". Is there a way?

If you update the firmware on the player, it should disappear after 5 powerups. To get the firmware upgrade, download the latest version of the Philips Device Manager from Philips' website, install the new Device Manager, and then click on the update button inside the new Device Manager. Very annoying, I know.

Sansa 1 gig mp3

Go ahead and do this, in case the DB is corrupted:
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx

Memory/Graphic problem

This might have something to do with DVMT or Digital Video Memory Technology. Basically, the amount of video memory is dependent on the amount of memory installed. I'm not very familiar with acer system BIOS but try to look for VIDEO under system BIOS and try to select any fixed video memory if possible. you can also try to disable DVMT.
