I have a Proview MA-782KC 17" TFT Monitor and when I switch it on the green power light flashes but nothing is appearing on the screen. When it was working properly the green light remained aon all...

I`ve opened it up and there are several 470uF capacitors in the power circuitry which are obviously bulging, meaning they are in considerable distress. I am ordering some replacements and will fit them when they arrive and see if they get it working. I`ll let you know :)
By the way, I don`t recommend this for anyone not versed in this kind of repair. Messing about inside the power circuit of a monitor can KILL - even unplugged, unless you know what you are doing, so please take care.

Proview 700P lcd monitor problem

Your monitor has been enabled as an extended monitor, not a clone.
Easy way to see is open a window, grab it and drag it to the other monitor (drag it right, not left). Just remember even if you have the external monitor on your left side, it is really on the right side according to the computer.
Check the display properties for a clone option if you want both to show the same thing.

Hope that helps a little.

Hi, I have a problem with

The high voltage (HV) flyback transformer is a very possible cause of this. This could be repaired by a qualified technician, but the cost may not be worth it. New 17" monitors can be acquired for free sometimes (think craigslist)

Monitor doesn't stay on.

Your problem seems to point to your video card. Your video card needs a driver to function. Odds are good that you need to install a video card. Avoid using the built-in Windows driver. A new video card has a CD with it. Use that. With your driver installed, configure your display settings. The Display applet on the Control Panel is your next step. The Display applet provides a convenient central location for all of your display settings. Go there and make your setting using the tabs.
You can crash Windows and force a reinstall simply by installing a new video card and not uninstalling the old card's drivers. Always uninstall the old card's drivers before you install drivers for a new card.

HP Flat Panel Monitor is dead!

The power supply within the monitor has probably expired. HP doesn't do spare parts for their TFT monitors as they are Full Unit Replacement items (if in warranty).

The filter is a matter of personal preference. Your monitor itself doesnt need it.
If you get a lot of eyestrain while working on your computer, then it will help you.
