Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W55 Digital Camera
I have small Power shot A560 and lens got stuck. Wont move and camera says that I need to restart it. I don't know how. Lens is out all the time and I hear clicking inside when I turn it on. What may cost the problem? How should I fix it? Can you help?

Ok, here is an option. goto casio's site and download the new bin. follow the instructions...more times than not the camera will work , but the error message will still appear...if U are using movie mode this will not matter because it uses E.I.S. instead. as for taking stills you can use the auto or image blurr to activate the E.I.S. (Electronic Image Stabilizer)..
The problem is with one of the U.S.M. ultrasonic shaft motors, there are 2 of them one in the vertical plane and the other in horizontal plane..almost...more precisely angle'd axis. The "H" U.S.M. is the one that is bad or intermittent..it might work again..(i have had this happen) there is NO fix for it, unless U are skill'd in hi-temp ceramics. So just a replacement of the imager block and support components must be done and have to be replaced as one.

Can't offer a solution - but here's the reply from Casio-Europe after sending my Exilim EX-V7 (bought end November 2007) to the service center:
the whole lens-unit has to replaced. as there are clear signs of heavy usage and inappropriate handling (???) there's no gurantee repair > costs 99,- EUR
especially the "heavy signs of usage" and "inappropriate handling" kinda fret me...the camera has always been stwoed in a camera bag and never fell to the floor or anything similar...

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
