Re: the display and programm buttons are dead
Sounds like you need to push the reset button on the lower left rear of the machine, unless thats the button you are already talking about. There are also some fuses on the back of this dryer that tend to fail. You have to call an ASKO servicer to install a factory bypass kit to repair this problem. Replacing the fuses will not solve the problem, as its the fuse sockets that melt and fail. Hope this is helpful!

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
It depends on what date the machine was manufactured. The date should be on the plate which is probably in an awkward position on the back ;-0( Date code 39 March 2005
Press start/cancel until ALL LEDS are lit
Press both start/cancel AND on/off together until 'dOFF' is displayed Date code 39 March 2005 to date code 42 June 2005
Press the cancel button and the machine should return to normal Date code 43 July 2005 onwards
Press both start/cancel AND on/off TOGETHER with top left option button until 'dOFF' is displayed.
You did not provide a make and model number so here is my best model to problem guess....
Your new control board is missing the size information.
AQUASMART-SIZE-SETTING. Size information must be programmed when a Motor Control Module or Display Module has been replaced. If the size is not set, the display will show fault code 9, or the water levels and wash actions will be incorrect. If the machine displays fault code 9, the machine must be switched off at the wall and then back on again before it can be sized.
Setting the size:
Unplug at the wall and then re-plug it in.
Press and hold Temp Up, then press Power. Wait for the 4 beeps, then set your machine size as follows to YOUR machine size:
5/5.5kg machines - press Temp Up. Cold led should light. 6/6.5kg machines - press Water Up. Low water led should light. 7/7.5kg machines - press Spin Speed up. Spin hold led should light.
Power off, try a programme. Thanks for using FixYa!
From the Tech Sheet:
IWL12 and GWL 11 are different models. One of the two procedures will work for your machine.

To set the size: 1. Turn the power on at the power point and off at the console.
2. IWL12 - Press and hold the FABRIC CARE button, then press the POWER button. This will present a set of options in the LCD screen. The LCD screen has within it a number of options. Press these buttons in the following sequence: [Clear], [Auto], [Clear], [Auto]
