Hibernation mode

Hi,
I have just recieved my laptop (Im bedridden) from my local disability services.
It was running at the time, however, I must have fell asleep. When I awoke the screem was black, its switched on, the battery light is orange, its plugged into the mains and there is a green light (a circle with a Z)I have feeling it has entered Hibernation mode (I have not done anything to the computer since receiving it on Friday (today is Saturday (so I cant ring anyone)and I dont know what to do to get it working again can you help me,
