TV with lines and no color

Had problems with lines across the screen of my TV. Called a repairman who came out to fix it , worked fine when he left and then the lines came back as well as no color showing up on the screen. Now it is worse then before I called him. Is there anything that I might be able to do to try and fix it, the repairman isn't returning/answering my calls and I really can't afford to sink another 200 in for another repair.
