We keep getting this but can get around it.
You probably have a blocked pump/filter. If there is still water in the machine you will need to drain this first. So...
First try this. If it's finished the washing phase turn off the machine (rotate the dial to off then turn off at mains), leave for a min and turn on again at mains, then move dial to the rinse cycle.
If this works then it may clear the blockage for you. If not go to the bits below.
1. Remove the covering from the bottom RHS of the machine
2. There is a small black hose. Pull out and place in suitable container/bucket then unplug the end.
3. Will take quite a while to remove all the water. (Tip - once water is well below the window level unlock door and remove washing).
4. Once all water removed replace hose top and unscrew anticlockwise the white holder to the right of the hose. Make sure you have a towel handy to mop up any excess water.
5. Remove and clean all junk from it under a tap.
6. Look and see inside hole if any debris wool/cotton etc is blocking impeller and remove if necessary.
7. Replace holder.
et voila it should work again!
If not you have probably have a blockage somewhere in the pipe inside the machine. Sorry can't help with that one.

hi, you need to empty the filter, ours does the same all too often. The filter is located bottom right of the machine at floor level, which is rather daft for an integrated applicance; we have to remove a whole length of plinth to empty ours. Be warned, a lot of gunge and water will come out so have towels at the ready, especially if you have a laminated floor. Turn the white slot with a a 10p piece......and empty. Not the most pleasant of jobs, but effective. Good luck!

SOURCE: washing machine error code f04
ok these machines are great and they make it very simple F04 means cant drain which usually means money or bits and bobs stuck in pump impeller. On the front of the machine remove the bottom right hand plastic cover by hand this is where the access to the filter and pump can be found, you will see a black cap about 3" which can be unscrewed you may need pliers or something to grip it and turn it, have plenty of old towels ready as the water in the machine will begin to come out when you unscrew it(anti clockwise), just unscrew it a little until the water trickles out and mop it up with the old towels until the water stops then continue to unscrew anti clockwise until you are sure the thread is no longer gripping you cant over unscrew so if in doubt just keep unscrewing....then it needs to be pulled out toward you, you will probably need grippers or pliers for this just wiggle it out and remove it, look inside you will see the drain pump impeller, put a finger in and feel for whatever is obstructing it and remove, now use a finger to feel for the inlet that comes into the chamber from the left, use a finger to feel inside this pipe and remove other bits and bobs in the pipeline that were ready to find there way to the pump, once you have removed whatever is in there clean with a rag the thread and scale and make it nice and clean. In your sink wash the screw cap and little white filter piece that is attached to the cap and careful so as not to cross thread it push and then screw it back in making sure the filter solid plastic part is facing toward the inlet pipe you cleaned earlier as its that solid part that prevents (should prevent but didn't or you wouldn't be doing this) large objects finding there way in to the impeller chamber, screw the cap in and restart the cycle and your done, easy repair anyone can do it..... Don't forget to send me your luv if this works for you!!... Nick (at) 2xx.co.uk

This error indicates an obstruction in the water pump. . Tip machine back so you can fit a bowl under the bottom right hand side. Flip back cover at bottom right to reveal pump filter access - unscrew (quite a bit of water comes out so have the bowl ready).
