Question about SanDisk Sansa c240 MP3 Player

Synchronize When I try to play songs that have been on the device for a while I am getting an error message saying to "sychronize to continue your music subscription." I have had my SanDisk for a few months and suddenly started having this problem....help!

    Is there a solution that doesn't require me to keep a subscription with anyone? I would like to upload music I have purchased to this device without Synchronizing licenses every 30 days on a pay site.

Well there are a few services that provide you with free music subscriptions.However, all of these sites are free so you won't get the best service, though it beats having to pay 8-).(Many of them have advertisement that are annoying).

If you have a subscription with Rhapsody, or similar, you have to re-connect your device to the service to "renew" your licenses. Generally every 30 days. Best of Luck.

The "synchronize files to continue" is annoying, and you are likely to get it again. If the music files on your player came from Rhapsody, the short-term solution is to re-synch the files through Rhapsody itself. If your subscription to Rhapsody, Overdrive, etc. ever expires, you will also get this message. The only long-term way around this problem is to only load songs that are in mp3 format (Rhapsody has an Mp3-Only subscription, which is different from its regular subscription; Limewire is another choice - but it is prone to have viruses, and some ISPs will cut off your broadband if you use the service). If you wanted to erase all songs and start over from scratch, you could update the firmware on the player - it will have the side effect of erasing everything on the player.

My computer doesnt recognize my MP3


How to get rid of the "synchronize to continue music subscription" message if it just appears out of nowhere on your player- this fixed mine when it gave me that message:

delete the STORE.HDS file in the system/wmdrmpd directory of your sansa (optional)

import your protected songs into WMP, and resync your protected music (with WMP) in MTP mode

play a protected song and let it rebuild the store.hds file (you will experience severe lag for about 15 seconds as it rebuilds) and the music should play.

please use the windows media player 10, click on sync and put all the songs you want in the sync list then click on start sync and it should sync properly without any problems.

You have to synchronize your Sansa to a computer that has a current subscription to Rhapsody, and you have to sync the Sansa to that same computer at least once every 30 days, or the Rhapsody songs will stop working. Use a different music service that is free, or convert all of the songs to Mp3 format to get around the problem. If you get a subscription to another music svc, then you must maintain a current subscription with whatever new svc you choose as well.

it's asking that you verify the DRM status (i.e., that you bought it and it resides on YOUR computer.) It cannot play the file until you synchronize it with windows media player. You can delete them off of the MP3 player just by noting which songs don't play and deleting them through windows explorer when the player is connected.

Music stopped playing "synchronize to continue..."


Your device has to be connected to Rhapsody every 15 to 30 days to verify your account.

If you are connected and signed in, and still receive this message, you should contact Rhapsody Technical Support as the error is on their end. (866-597-5507)
