Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P73 Digital Camera
After using the camera, when I tried to turn it off, the lense would not retract. I assumed it was the batteries. I was out of town, so put it in my suitcase and forgot about it. After I got home, I realized the lense was still out. I put in new batteries. The lense still would not retract. The power would come on, but the screen is black and says "access". After a few seconds, it begins to beep and says "Turn the power off and on again" An icon also shows up on the screen that shows the battery is getting weak. When I turn it back on again, it just repeats the same steps. Sometimes I am able to go to the arrow that will review the pictures already on the memory stick. It will never allow me to take any pictures. There is also a yellow flashing light right above the screen. Thanks for any help.
That's what mine was doing after I dropped it with the lens open. I ended up having to have a new lens installed by Sony for $200. I love this camera so to me it was worth it.

Had similar problems with a DSC-P93 and found av clue to a solution on the internet: Change to new batteries, the original Sony Ni-Mh 2100 mAh seems to have gone really bad!
