Question about JVC HD-52G886 52" Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

JVC AV56WP74 Power on: Blue power light illuminates but there is no picture or sound. Power off: After pressing power button to turn off it takes 30 sec. - 2 min. to power off. If I keep trying I can get it to come on with picture and sound. I usually have to cycle power 30 - 40 times. This is very frustrating so I usually leave power on.

Re: JVC AV56WP74

Replace the lamp, also the shut down time is correct the unit must allow plenty of time proper lamp cooling. otherwise the lamp life will be greatly shortend. normal lamp life is 3000 hrs.
lamp replacement may require an internal limp timer reset have a qualified tech replace the lamp.

When press power button, power light comes on, but tv does not come on

Does the weird noise sound like a whining noise? Like something is spinning? If so then your color wheel is going out.

My screen is blank and the power button keeps flashing blue

AV56wp74? The power button blinking blue means the set is in shutdown----the most common reason for this in this set is one of the two convergence chips is shorted. The way I usually prove this is to remove rear cover and or front grill and examine convergence circuit located at the front of the set----Also--I will unplug the plug from that circuit board that goes to the TV's power supply---if the set turns on with the convergence circuit board unplugged from it---you know your trouble is one of the two chips---if this is the case both have to be replaced and the set adjusted.

I do this here for free so if this has helped you give me a vote here. If you have questions or need help let me know.

Loud popping on jvc av56wp74

if the noise is from inside the tv in the back, the high voltage transformer that feeds the anode for the rgb tubes,28000volts probably is arcing.
