Zenith Dual receiver PIP 27 " standard "portable" TV color problems

The color is starting to fade, the picture getting darker and losing the blue - both green & blue come up green. Since I can't find any new TVs with dual receivers & Pip ( Picture In Picture ) I would rather repair this old faithful - than give up my PIP.

Tell me something I asked and don't already know

What can you do to correct / fix this ? Is it a matter of purchasing/ replacing tubes, ckt boards etc ? Can you reccommend anyone to do this ?

Also, if I adjust the red in the color control menu to a higher setting - everything becomes too red, so I am a little confused as to the "lack of or poor quality " red -

The set gets swiveled on a turn table - how can you tell if the crt is loose and how does it get tightened ?

1 The color is starting to fade& dark.
it is due to low brightness & it is due to video section supply not proper or less voltage on g2 electrode.& FINALLY DUE TO WEAK CRT.
2 losing the blue - both green & blue come up green.
green +blue =cyan as you said looks like green
this is due to red colour absent.
    red absent is due to
    1 crt base loose.
2 failure of red video circuit means supply to red video not proper or parts failure in red cathode ckt.
    3 connector loose (RGB)
4 red signal is not coming from processor to red video section.
means your problem is in red video section &also as per you crt is getting weak.
    hope this is enough.
    good luck.

DVD connections have progressively grown darker and now have gone to totaly black and white. Television color and picture are completely normal.

If you are using the red, green and blue component inputs, check to make sure the red and blue ones are connected good and none of the jacks are loose. If not there is a problem with either the DVD player or the TV. Hard to say. Thanks

Zenith 27" HDTV second antenna input not accessible on TV/remote

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Pls verify if your particular model/versions has a PIP feature. To my understanding, the 2nd Antenna/Cable IN goes to a 2nd tuner that is primarily used for the PIP (picture in picture) mode. This mode would allow you to watch simultaneously 2 different TV channels.

Pls post back. Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

Pip for my iQB36B44w

The PIP may only work with an external tuner or source (VCR, DVD, CATV box, etc) If your TV doesnt say "dual tuner" then you need an external source for the PIP (Use a VCR and its tuner for instance)
