1. How can I check to see how full my SD card is and generally can a full states citynavigator and topo fit on a 1 gig card? We live in CO.
2. When I load a new TOTO area of the state I seem to loose city maps & other saved TOPO's. Then I have to play around with HIDE/SHOW and sometimes it all comes back. Normal?
Thanks a bunch!
The way I do it is us an adapter that firs in your card slot on your computer. you can bring it us and show properties. It will tell yopu haw much info you have on your card. The other question. I have the whole city navigator on a 2GB card. It takes up about 1.6GB. So you will not be able to fit it all on a 1GB card.
Also, if you use the adapter it does not take as long to download the maps as it would if you went through your gsp.

When you install a larger SD card it will be a fresh empty memory card. Your existing 8Gb SD card will still have the the 5 hour gig data on it. You can insert the 8Gb SD memory card into an USB memory card reader and plug this into the USB port on your computer. The computer will see this SD memory card and adapter as an external storage device. You can then open the audio folder on theis SD memory card and copy this file to your computer.
If you have the TOPO maps loaded to an SD card and the card is inserted all you should have to do is go to Tools > Settings > Map > Info in this menu you will find your map sets if you see TOPO make sure it is activated if not you may need to re install them to the SD.
Good day sir/maam, you may need a driver for your SD card reader for vista. pop in the cd that came with your notebook to the cd drive. make sure its for Vista.
If still does not work, plug in a non HC sd, like a 1 gig SD card. if it works, then the card reader only supports non hc SD. ( I know it usually supports HC cards ) check also for viruses. there are viruses that can dissable sd card readers. just make sure your laptop is virus free.
No, Garmin maps will not work on a Magellan Triton.
Yes, you can install Bluechart and CityNavigator onto one SD card. Inside Mapsource, select the Bluechart maps you want, then switch to CityNavigator and select the maps you want from then, and then send all at once to the GPS unit. If you send Bluechart maps, and then CityNavigator, the CityNavigator will overwrite the Bluecharts. This is why it must be done all in one step. I would suggest the format option in the menu. i posted the manual it gives step by step getting to the format option. if it works on one but not the other even after formatting in problematic camera. I would suggest getting a different brand/size. There's a 1gig liimit, but i am currently using a panasonic 2 gig and it seems to be working at its stated size. Although i haven't filled it to see if any problems occurr.
Hope this helps.
