Question about Balance Notebook

Where can I find drivers for my Balance 14.1

I bought a new hard drive but and had Xp reinstalled from the dealer. However, he said I need an audio driver and there are 3 other unidentifable PCI cards. I don't see my wireless network card anymore so I assume that I need all my drivers, but Balance Digital is out of business.

New hard drive operating system not found

The reason why you cannot install Windows on your hard drive is this model Sony has a SATA disk controller.
The problem is that XPinstallation CD does not have a SATA driver, unless you have a SATA drive on adisk etc. and can install the driver when XP asks for a hard drive driver then,XP cannot detect the hard disk and therefore won't install XP.The FIX.Go into the BIOS anddisable the SATA drive (enable IDE emulation), this will make XP think it is aIDE/PATA hard disk. Then you can install XP normally. When Windows hasbeen installed then install all the device drivers (including the SATA driver),then shut down and boot up and got into the BIOS and enable the SATA drive.

Bought new hard drive for mini 1012 dell bios sees new hard drive but when i try to install windows xp , xp says no mass storage device detected.

In the bios change the drive options to anything but AHCI if possible. You will need a windows xp driver and USB floppy disk to install the AHCI or SSD driver. It's also referred to as an F6 Floppy. Dell should have the download you need.

71 years old, would like a step by step procedure to transfer the content of my computer to the hard drive, than i would like to remove & reinstall window xp. This would greatly be appreciated. Thank...

Transferring file from your computer to external hard drive is very easy, just copy and paste all the files you needed to the external hard drive.

Reinstalling Windows XP would be quite difficult. Make sure you have Windows XP installer CD and all the utility hardware driver of your computer e.g. Chipset driver, Sound driver, VGA driver, WAN driver, LAN driver and others. If you do not have the Utility drivers, just download the complete set of utility driver in the internet. Most of them are free to downloads.

Here is the procedure with video on how to reinstall the Windows XP operating system (step by step)

Please rate and make a comment if you find this solution very helpful and might help others as well. Post more comments if you need more help.

Regards and thank you for using Fixya !

Replaced hard drive and reinstalled xp and now I have no audio devince

Your going to need to install the drivers for your audio device. If your using onboard audio you can use the cd or dvd that came with the motherboard or the pc.

If your using a sound card, then you will need the driver for that as well.

Xp will not install audio drivers.Or graphics drivers,if it does there usually outdated unless you run windows update, possibly.

I had windows xp running on it but then my computer went down.ive tried reinstalling windows sevral time with differrent disks but it keeps saying there a 14 error

14 Error is related to the manual reboot required once the Drivers or operating system has been newly installed.

So after reinstalling the operating system, install all the require drivers for the hardware and reboot manually it will fix the issue.

New hard drive not reconized, motherboard drivers

I had this problem on a computer recently. This particular motherboard may be needing the driver on the Windows XP SP2 disk. Your motherboard may have been made to use Microsoft SATA drivers. Othewise, there would have been a driver disk that came with the motherboard to let it see that SATA hard drive.
If it's a new hard drive, you have to reinstall the O/S so use a disk new enough to have SP2 included.

Hi I have a WD1200BEVS hard drive making a musical two tone buzz. Any chance for repair?

If you can boot up your computer, I would back up your data before your hard drives fail completely. It is unusal to have both hard drives go at the same time.
Mere mortals such as me and you cannot repair hard drives, basically buy new ones to replace the faulty drives.
To reinstall Windows on your new hard drive, you will need the Windows XP or Vista CD install disk plus all the device drivers for all the installed devices in your computer (eg. video, audio, LAN etc.) and install those that Windows could not install.
Make sure when you download these device drivers that you select the ones that is specific to the version of the Windows operating system you installing.
