New ECS 915G-M Motherboard Problem

I am trying to install a new ECS 915G-M Motherboard and I cannot get the board to POST. I have tried swapping memory, clearing the CMOS, changing the battery, making sure the MoBo is not being grounded in the case, removed and re-inserted the CPU, and checked the power supply. Any suggestions on getting this to work?

Re: New ECS 915G-M Motherboard Problem

Hi, first check if you have a red or green ready led light on somewhere on the mobo. then check if you have the cables from the front of the case attached to the correct pins on the board. your board documentation will tell you which pins and the case cables are marked as to which ones they are. regards mistyman

and compare that is your BIOS updated ? If not, I suggest first update your BIOS to the latest version and see if error is removed ? Try Load Optimal Settings of BIOS. If fail, then try resetting the BIOS. If you have install anything new, try to boot by removing the new device. I suggest from the above URL, you can download the manual of the mother board. I hope trying these steps will remove your problem.

I have problem with my ECS A928 motherboard and I want to change it, because I can't find new one. Which other motherboard is similiar with this that I can set on my ECS iBuddie4?

Weird as it may sound, a laptop is made around it's motherboard.

Due to this, it needs to be THE motherboard that came with it.

Very seldom do laptop motherboards exchange with each other.

Just a thought. Motherboard may be bad too. Hard to say exactly, unless you have it in front of you, and diagnose.

Out of curiosity what is wrong with the motherboard?

Installed Intel P4 630 CPU on ECS P4M800-M7 V3.1 mobo. Cannot do POST. The mobo runs fine with Intel Celeron 326 fine.

Hello Mafatbhai, What beeps are you getting at POST?
Here is a list of BIOS beep codes.
Well the mobo should not have any problems with the new CPU. Please ensure though that you have removed the CMOS battery to reset it. I have included a link to ECS for your specific board. Download and install all of the available updates starting with the drivers and then the BIOS updates.

The audio driver is a Realtek HD Audio and the lan driver should be a Realtek driver also - they can both be downloaded from links on this page.

Post your results here, especially if that link doesn't fix your problem.

Mother board problem

The noise must be coming from the power supply. The only thing running before you press the power on button is the PSU.
Unplug the power cord on the PSU. Check the back of the PSU for a red slide switch. Make sure it is set for 115v. Than disconnect the main power from the motherboard. Plud in the power cord, (still hear the high pitch noise?). Swap out your power supply.

New board will not install com ports 1 & 2 and lpt1 printer port & floppy dr A

what you should have done was uninstalled the old motherboard drivers first as these drivers will be running the board although incorrectly, if you still have the installation disc run it as if to install, but it should show up with the option to uninstall the drivers.
