The control panel works intermittently.

The dishwasher has an electronic touchpad control. Usually when you try to start it by touching the touchpad to select the cycle you want (Pots and Pans, Normal, etc.), nothing lights up on the control panel. If you keep trying, once in a while it will select a cycle. Then when you push the start position on the touchpad it may or may not start. If it does start, then it seems to go through the cyce that you have selected and wash the dishes. Do you know if this might be a faulty electronic control panel or the switch membrane (touchpad)?

My Haier 18 dishwashers control panel does not illuminate.

First, confirm that the dishwasher display is working. If the display is still working, try pressing some of the touchpad buttons. If some of the buttons respond correctly but others don't, it is likely that the touchpad is at fault. (Some manufacturers sell the touchpad separately from the control panel. Other manufacturers require that you purchase the touchpad and control panel together. If you cannot replace the touchpad individually, replace the touchpad and control panel.)

Belling dishwasher wont start all the lights are on

Check your owner's manual and make sure the child lock settings are turned off. Reset the dishwasher -If your dishwasher won't start but the lights are on, there could be an issue with the start button.

If the dishwasher is working but you get no response when you press the control buttons the reason for that is probably either a faulty touchpad, faulty control panel or a main control board.
Touchpad and Control Panel: If some buttons work and other don't it is likely that the entire piece needs to be replaced. It depends on your dishwashers make and model if the touchpad and control panel are sold as one unit or separately.

Good luck

Thermal Fuse

If the dishwasher won't start the thermal fuse might have blown. The thermal fuse helps to prevent damage to the dishwasher by turning off power so that it doesn't overheat. Once blown, the thermal fuse will have to be replaced for the dishwasher to work. The thermal fuse is usually located in the control panel on the control board or mounted to the bottom of the tank behind the lower panel. The thermal fuse can be checked for continuity.

The door switch, or switches, are sometimes called interlock switches. The door switch prevents the dishwasher from running while the door is open. If the dishwasher won't start, the switch or switches might be defective. To access the door switches, remove the control panel or inside door panel - depending on the model. They can be tested for continuity.

If the buttons don't work on the control panel, the dishwasher touchpad might be at fault. Generally speaking, if the dishwasher display is working and some of the buttons respond correctly but some don't, the problem is with the touchpad.

F1 is popping up on my digital display and a beeping noise comes along with it. What does that mean and how do I get it to stop?

Your F1 error is
: indicating an electronic control malfunction
: (a $250 part) or a control panel (a $60
: part)? Usually if the symptoms stop with the touchpad disconnected from the clock, that touchpad is often the cause. If the error continues even with the touchpad disconnected, the clock itself is usually at fault and will need to be replaced to correct the problem. On some models it is not possible to disconnect the two in which case the electronic control/clock would have to be replaced regardless.
There is a tool that allows testing of the touchpad (on models where they're separate parts) but is kind of expensive for a homeowner to purchase them self. If you contact a technician so equipped, they should be able to test the touchpad before replacing any parts.
BTW. On most models, the control keypad is only sold along with the whole control panel (without the electronic control) but on some models the keypad linked below can be used to repair the one on the original control panel.
