Question about Pioneer SD-533HD5 53" Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

4a fuse blown

When I try to turn the unit on the stby light turns green then back to red. I can replace the fuse and sometimes it will come back on and work until powered off again. Also In the inside rear center board there is a red light that illuminates when the fuse blows. Left RED LED. Im not sure which board is which when looking at the back of the TV. TV looks great when it works. Any help would be great.

Something else went when the fuse blew---voltage checks are needed and someone needs to check for shorts on the set to ground.

I believe my tv was involved in a power surge. red/green blinks

U just may of blown fuses on the power supply of the television if you are sure it was a surge. If u can open the unit check all fuses on the power supply for open coniditions. If the future is a good Ideal to use a surge proctector as this will protect your equipment. Make sure power is off and remove AC power to check fuses. Sometimes just removing AC power for a least 2mins will reset the unit.

Hi i have panasonic Veira model TH-42PX70A my tv has stopped working i have no sound and no picture. when turn on the standby button flashes red. If try to turn on from standby mode the green light appears...

Hello this may be a power supply problem, but my professional guess is that your Y-Substain board has failed. Count the number of times the red light flashes, this indicates the reason of failure of the unit. After which check ur user manual for troubleshooting section, your manual may give you a listing of the number of blinks and what they mean. If you want take off the back and check the fuses on the power supply if one is blown then replace the power supply as just replacing the fuse will just blow it again. If no fuse are blown then have a technician replace teh Y_Substain Board.

Your tv might have a defective power supply, and/or convergence circuit. The initial cause of the problem, if it is the convergence circuit, is usualy a loose conection on one or two jumpers close to the convergence output circuits (STK392-1110), in with case this chips might need to be replaced and a pico fuse of 5A on the power supply too. I hope this help you.

HDTV Projection monitor will not power on

Problem solved. With the set plugged in(but in stand by mode) I took the back off. There are two LED on the left board that, if on, identify a problem. The D111 LED was on. I traced it to a blown fuse-FU303 which is the center fuse, about the middle of the center circuit board. I tried replacing the fuse 3 times, after each, it would blow. Another chat section on your site suggested using a 5a(up from 4a) fuse; that fixed the problem. The set works great. Your IC fix worked fine, although getting the boards out  was quite a chore. Your link to the instructions on how to R/R the IC chips was invaluable, and the set of instructions on the process was very complete and well done. Thanks for all of your help!

Pioneer SD P50A5 red light stays on, green lights up but does not stay on

It's internal, located close to many other fuses, the one in question is a 4a 125v fast-blow.

Get a flashlight, (after opening up the bottom cover on the back) and look at ALL the fuses
on the power supply board. Search intently on finding a 4a glass mini-AGC board-mounted fuse.

MAKE SURE the TV is unplugged when you do this!
