Question about Polaroid FLM-323B Television
LCD flat screen TV flashes on for a second then nothing. No menu or anything. Just blue power light. These units are known for power supply issues so they sent a whole new main module for replacement. Still the same problem. Is it possible something in the display panel is causing this or ????
I would be willing to bet the inverter circuit and/or backlight lamps is to blame and the CCFL processor has open/shorted lamp protection features which shut the lamps down. If you were able to pull the lamp holders from the sides of the LCD and shine a bright light into the openings, you might see the video images are actually being displayed despite no backlighting...check lamps by having the lamp holders out of the unit when you switch it on for the first time, then swap lamp connections to eliminate whether the problem is a lamp itself or the driving circuit behind it. check secondary resistance on inverter transformers, check outputs of the CCFL processor and all electrolytic caps for failure. check to see if pinouts of CCFL processor are within specification of the chip's datasheet values.
