Hi there, I have recently Bought the LA32R81B LCD TV I connected my LCD TV to the Xbox360 using the VGA cables... 1_--But the problem is, in the Detailed settings options, the edge enhancement option is disabled, I do not really know why is that ?? The Setting is set to Standard .. with Home theater enabled.. The Sharpness Settings is also disabled ... But anyway, may I know why is the Edge Enhancement option disabled ?? And if there is a way to get rid of a little jagged edges in games.. 2_--Plus, there is an option I did not really understand, in the PC config., in the ImageLock settings, what is the Caorse and Fine options ?? What do they do ??? How can I apply good settings for them to give me the BEST quality there is ?? Please explain to me these 2 issues mentioned above :) Thanks in advance, best Regards, ZnZ

    Thanks for your reply..

But there is a problem, I have a Xbox360 attached to my LCD tv with a VGA Cable .. Maybe because of this, the sharpness option is disabled as well as the Edge Enhancement option ..

Although if I go to PC options, I have this Course and Fine adjustment that I have no idea what they are ..

Could you possibly help me with this ?

Edge enhancement option i think would be enabled if you are in dynamic or movie mode. What it does is to enhance the contrast of the edges of 2 different colors.

I have the LA32S8, similar specs but only 7000:1 CONTRAST ratio. when playing dvd, i set it to movie mode. Settings vary on different tv and player. you can adjust first the backlight, then brightness then contrast, color and sharpness. the brightness you adjust by choosing the level that shows enough details on dark scenes. adjust if its too dark not to see the details of the scene. contrast, you can set by distiguishing vivid colors of the picture, dont put too much contrast as your picture would look flat. it should have a 3d look, same also with sharpness, you can experiment on the face of a person to show details on the edges.
color you set just enough to make it accurate on color reproduction.

My settings for movie are
contrast 92
brightness 49
sharpness 23
color 57
tint g48 r52
backlight 7
tone warm1
digital NR off
black adjust high
dynamic ocntrast high
gamma +2
edge enhancement on
color space auto

HDMI [High Definition Multimedia Interface]. VGA [Video Graphics Array]. AV [Audio Video]. By these definitions itself talk to you about the inputs your TV have; and it do not support VGA. Output from PC is VGA. Without a VGA input with the TV, you can't connect the PC to TV. I think I'm clear. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

I can't connect my xbox360 to my sony pfm-42b2 tv

Keep in mind that your Sony IS NOT A TV, but a monitor instead. There is an actual XBOX360 VGA adapter that's available at most gaming retailers. It was initially designed for those who wanted to use their PC monitors for there console gaming. HDMI is NOT compatible with a VGA input as HDMI is a digital signal type and VGA is an analog type connection. You must also remember to have the XBOX set to a NON-progressive resolution (480i) if trying to hook it up using the standard XBOX video cables.

Hi Jatinder Kumar ,
Yes you can connect your computer output to lcd tv through dvi-hdmi cable or vga-hdmi cable.
1. Connect to HDMI (DVI) : just plug in HDMI (DVI) out of PC or laptop to HDMI or DVI TV. Than select source from HDMI.
2. Connect to PC : Plug D sub to TV, select PC in.

I hope that will help you.
thanks.

LCD Monitors having multiple inputs have option and option to select and switch between the displays from analog (VGA) or Digital (DVI) inputs. Go to the LCD menu and select input source (DVI)

Silly question, but have you swiched the laptop external screen function 'on' on the laptop ? This is normally done using the function (Fn) button in conjunction with one of the F keys.

Samsung LCD LA32R81B getting reset automatically every 1/2 hour

Your TV is in Shop Mode, its optimised for usage in a shop. People mess with the settings all day long, so when in shop mode, if you go to standby it wipes all the settings everytime.

You need to re-enable Home mode, to do this go back to the DTV menu and find the option PLUG and PLAY on the 1st with the cog icon.

Enjoy!
