Faint Vertical lines on Samsung LCD TV

I have a 3 year old 32 inch Samsung LCD that has faint vertical lines in 3 places on the screen. These faint vertical bars are most apparent when the screen is totally dark or displaying a solid background, like the sky or grass. It happens in both HDMI (dish HD), component, and through the coax connection (antenna). One of the lines is very close to the dreaded "black bars". I thought LCD's didn't "burn" and we usually don't watch the same station or signal long enough that we should have burned. The other lines are not as much as a perfect line and show up more wavy and uneven but still vertical -- about an inch thick but fatter and thinner in areas. I hope they are not two separate issues. I noticed all the problems simultaneously. It is fairly recent and extremely annonying. I have been satisfied with the tv

LCD tv and monitors still do burn in and in some cases it takes less time for the burn-in to occur. I work in an IT shop were we have dozens of LCD monitors with images burned into them.

Your correct, LCD's don't burn. This sounds like a defective main control module. I would take it in as soon as possible to have it looked at.

I got multiple thin colors on the middle of the screen

My 3-year old 52-inch Toshiba flat panel TV (Model # 52RV53U, Serial # AM409000295) developed a display issue (purchased Aug. 2008, manufactured July 2008). Vertical multicolored lines appeared on the screen just left of center. The band of thin vertical bars is 5.5 inches wide. The lines are about 1/16-inch wide. They are stationary, always exactly in same place. They over-ride any other picture on the screen (no transparency). They are there all time even with no video inputs to the TV after the unit is turned on. See picture #1. The TV works well in every other respect, but, obviously, it is annoying to watch the picture with the color band blocking about 1/6 of the picture.

I already swapped out the TCON board with no improvement and replugged the TCON board cables with no improvement.

Most likely it is the flat panel tab bond failure (panel made by Samsung). Further updates will be on my Facebook page.

My 32 inch samsung lcd tv has got faint black lines running down the screen ,its nearly 4 years old but i expected it to last longer than that, and ive had sky hd box recently would that have anything todo...

Are these lines on both side of the screen or what location are they in? They can be caused by watching 4:3 television with the black bars on both sides. Watching 16:9 full screen HD wont cause issues with that. If only on the sides there is not much you can do except put a pure white screen on the TV and leave that on for at least 6 hours. This will age the panel a little but in theroy wil even the pixel burn you have to make the lines less noticable. Please take a few moments to rate my answer. Thank you

Vertical colour lines on whole screen

The problem is that the panel has failed. Apparently this is a common problem with LCD TV's between 18 mths and 3 yrs old. If it survives over 3 yrs it is likely to last for a few years longer. The cost of replacing the panel is more than a replacement TV!
