\windows\system32\kdcom.dll Missing or corrupt Kernel debugger

Try tapping F8 at bootup to enter safe mode, read your manual to see if you have a recovery partition on your HDD. You didn't post the model so I have no clue.

If you can enter safe mode you need to try system restore, not last good know configuration.

If you see last know config on your screen, then you should also see safe mode.

So you need to run in safe mode, and run system restore, or run the recovery mode if you have a recovery partition on the HDD.

If none of these work, then you only have three options, go to, download the rescue disk, burn it to a CD and run it in DOS, this is before windows boots. Now if malware corrupted the DLL, Avira will kill it, but there is a chance it can't clean it and will destroy the files,DLL, and windows won't boot. So now you have to do below.

The other option is you need to download windows, what ever version you have, if you have win 7 home 32bit, then you have to download it, and burn it to a DVD. Then try a repair, if a repair does not work then you need to reinstall windows, and then install all the drivers like, (chipset, video, sound, lan, wifi)

This option, you can contact Acer and see if they have a recovery disk for you.

Good luck.

Keep getting this message <window

  • "Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
    <Windows root>\system32\hal.dll.
Please re-install a copy of the above file."

  • "<Winnt_root>\System32\Hal.dll missing or corrupt:
Please re-install a copy of the above file."

  • "Cannot find \Windows\System32\hal.dll"

  • "Cannot find hal.dll"
The "missing or corrupt hal.dll" error displays shortly after the computer is first started. Windows XP has not yet fully loaded when this error message appears. CauseCauses of the "missing or corrupt hal.dll" error include, naturally, a damaged hal.dll DLL file or a hal.dll file that has been deleted or moved from its intended location.Additional causes may include a damaged or missing boot.ini file or possibly a physically damaged hard drive.

Please let me know you have any further questions or concerns.

Have a problem booting or loading windows. error message root directory system32.hal.dll.

Ok at boot up press F8, when the Menu comes up, choose Safe Mode, but this time instead of going to the desktop, choose System Restore, follow instructions, and when the Calender type window comes up, simply choose a time BEFORE, the time it went faulty. This should completely restore you to working again. As long as there are NO other problems. -

M3plugin.dll how to remove

If you are looking to just remove that single file, boot into safe mode, rename it then delete it. When you get the messages of "can not delete", it means that the file is in use by windows. So you want to keep it from loading at startup, which is why I suggested Safe Mode.

You can also use the free removal program from This program picks up many things other malware scanners miss.

IBM T22 Thinkpad won't boot up - not even in safe mode

either you have a virus or a corrupted dll file.
eitherway, beside create a bootable CD or Floppy disk, and try to fix from there, thats' time a money.
the next best thing, is to reinsall the operating system.
the other option is get a new hard drive and install the operating system on that so you can preserve the data you have on the old one.
