My DELL was working fine. All of a sudden when i try to turn it on, the power butten goes on, and remains on, but no other lights go one. The one next to it (hard drive?) lights for a second and goes out. I hear the HD lightly hum - or maybe its the fan i hear. But the PC appears to be dead. This occurs wether plugged in or via fully charged battery.

What has happened is your hard drive as failed and that is why it shut down and then gave the unmountable boot volume. You could try repairing windows using your XP cd but it's a new hard drive i recon.

Pogo ican get on pogo but most of the games will not load

Remove all Java and Flash from your computer. Once removed, do a Shut down, wait a couple of minutes, power the computer back on, go to Adobe and download and install Flash, after that's done, go to and download and install the latest version of Java. Restart the computer, then try Pogo again. Don't skip any of the steps or it probably won't work.

Flash player not installing

1) Check the settings of your anti-virus program. A lot of times an anti-virus program will not let a program download.

2) The main thing with Adobe Flash Player, is that it will NOT install a new version of Flash Player; with an old version present.

And it will NOT automatically delete the old version.

Use the Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller tool.
Then go back to Adobe Flash Player Support, and download AND install the newest version of Adobe Flash Player.

Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller tool,

Go down to the bottom of the page, where it states in bold print -
Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller
Click on the blue - Tech note - in the paragraph.

Takes you to here,

Scroll down to -
1. Download the uninstaller for Flash Player
Click on the blue - uninstaller - underneath the above heading. [Uninstaller (674KB) ]

A small window will come up. Click on Save File.
A small download window will come up.
Allow the file to fully download, then DOUBLE-click right on the file name.

At the bottom of the next 3 small windows, click on Next, Next, and Finish.
If you are not asked to restart your computer, do so.

When Windows loads back up again, go back to Adobe Flash Player Support, download and install the newest version of Adobe Flash Player.

Downloaded latest adobe flash player but iplayer still wont play?

Things they don't tell you

When installing the newest version of Adobe Flash Player, it will NOT automatically uninstall the old version.

If the old version is still there, the new version will not install.

Fun stuff, huh?

Use the Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller tool.

Go down to -
1. Download the uninstaller for Flash Player,
and click on the blue - uninstaller (674KB)

A small window will come up on the Right -
Opening uninstall_flash_player.exe
Click on Save File.

Another small window will come up on the left. (Download window)
After the file has fully downloaded, DOUBLE-click on it.
Click on Next, Next, and Finish.

Run the tool.
When finished restart your computer if not asked to do so.
Now go here,

Suggest clicking on the box to the left of -
Yes, install McAfee Security Scan Plus, ya-da, ya-da.
Removes the green checkmark.
McAfee bl-ows, and just slows your computer down anyway ]

I'm different. I use Mozilla Firefox. Don't care for Chrome, and sure don't care for Internet Explorer.

You tube vidoes wont load

1) Make sure your Adobe Flash Player is up to date,

[ Advise click on the small square to the left of -
Yes, install McAfee Security Scan Plus - optional
,and remove the green checkmark. THEN click on Download now ]

Be advised though, sometimes the new Adobe Flash Player download, will not automatically remove the old Adobe Flash Player version that is installed; and the Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller Tool is needed.

Go to the bottom of this page. Under the bold subheading -
Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller - click on the blue - Tech Note.

On the following page go down to the subheading -
1. Download the uninstaller for Flash Player -
,and click on - uninstaller - in blue. (674 KB)

In the small window that comes up click on Save File.

Close all internet windows.

In the small download window that comes up next, allow the file to fully download, then DOUBLE-click right on the file name.

When you are finished with the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller, close all windows, restart the computer.
Now go back to Adobe Flash Player Support, and download the new Adobe Flash Player.

2) Make sure your Java is up to date,

3) Sometimes I have found, that you have to click on Pause for the video, and allow it to download for a bit, then click on Play.

I already install the adobe flash player, but still i cant play my games in facebook.

Perhaps the newest version of Adobe Flash Player isn't installed.

Sometimes you have to use the Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller, then download, and install the newest version of Adobe Flash Player.
Adobe Flash Player may not automatically remove the old version. If the old version isn't removed, the new version won't install.

This is Adobe Support, (Adobe Support Center), and the download page for the Uninstaller,

On line 1 click on the blue - uninstall_flash_player.exe (229KB)

In the small box that comes up click on Save File.

Now in the other small window that comes up look at the heading at the top.
This is where the file will be downloaded to.
Write it down.

It may have Desktop, or My Documents, or Downloads in the heading.
(Desktop, Documents, and Downloads for Vista, and Win7)

1) If it has Desktop in the heading the file will be on your desktop screen.

2) If it has My Documents in the heading, click on Start, then click on My Documents.

3) If it has Downloads in the heading, click on Start, click on My Documents, double-click on Downloads.

When you see the file name - uninstall_flash_player.exe - double-click right on it.
Follow the simple instructions of the Installation Wizard.
(Just click on Next, Next, and Finish)

When you are done restart your computer.
Now go back to Adobe, and download the newest version of Adobe Flash Player.

After you have installed the newest version restart your computer if it does not state so.

Hi, if you keep getting a "error code" from the Adobe Reader; do the following. First, click on the [Start Button], select to open the "Control Panel {shortcut}." In the next window, select the [Uninstall a Program ] applet, next scroll to find the "Adobe Reader" highlight it to "Uninstall." Next, follow the instructions to complete the removal of the program. Once the Adobe Reader, is removed "restart the computer." The next thing to do is "Reinstall the Adobe Reader," click on this site to get the "Download" of the New Software. Once the installation of Adobe is completed; "restart the computer again!" "Let me know if all went well by giving a "helpful rating, and thanks for using Fix'Ya.

My computer shuts down acer programs wont run

If your computer has preinstalled recovery options:

1. Remove all floppy disks, CDs, and DVDs from your computer, and then restart your computer.
Click the Start button getopencontent.aspx?assetid=4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33&documentset=en-us&renderkey=xml, click the arrow next to the Lock button getopencontent.aspx?assetid=eb058ccf-b21e-4dfe-9bb7-1ad6c83b705c&documentset=en-us&renderkey=xml, and then click Restart.
2. Do one of the following:
• If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you will need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then shutting down and restarting your computer.
• If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to highlight the operating system you want to repair, and then press and hold F8.
3. On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight Repair your computer, and then press ENTER. (If Repair your computer is not listed as an option, then your computer does not include the System Recovery Options menu as a preinstalled recovery option.)
4. Select a keyboard layout, and then click Next.
5. Select a user name and enter the password, and then click OK.
6. On the System Recovery Options menu, click a tool to open it.

'Failed to install. For Troubleshooting please see:'for windows xp

I'm assuming that you were trying to install Adobe Flash Player. The best thing to do would be to remove Flash Player from your system entirely, and then try a clean install. Please go to and click on the link following the word "Windows" below the text "1. Download the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller." Save this file to your desktop. Shut down ALL programs that you have running. Look in the system tray (next to the time) to make sure that everything is closed.

Run the uninstaller by clicking on the file that was placed on your desktop. You may be asked to restart your system. If you are, please do that before going any farther.

Once Flash Player is completely gone from your computer, please go to . Wait for a few minutes. When Flash Player is reinstalled, you will see a quick Flash animation in the middle of the lighter blue box telling you that your installation is complete.

Each time you upgrade your Flash Player, you should use this routine to ensure that no parts of the old version are left over to cause problems for the newest version.

Hope this helps! Diana Wellspring
