Problem for CD and DVD Burners

No sound on dvd recording
I am recording from a camcorder to a dvd recorder/video cassette. I have a picture but no sound. Have set the dvd recorder to proper audio record mode, but still have no sound. I am not using a dv cable as recommended, but am using an s-video cable.
Is that my problem?

- I have an HP Media Center PC w/ digital audio output feeding into my video card. The audio and video are then fed out of the video card via HDMI. I get audio when I play CDs, but I get no audio when I play DVDs even though I get great video. I also get sound from everything else including downloaded video and video games. - just installed a dvd+r/rw,dvd+r dl dvd ram and cd-r/rw video is fine but i dont have any audio. tried burning a dvd video is also fine but still no audio help pls.- cfsamsom
