You will have dirt on the heads, the picture will show through when you scan as it is travelling past the heads at a faster rate. Either try using a head cleaning tape or remove the top cover & very gently use a head cleaning fluid (eg. isopropal alcahol) with a head cleaning stick or clean piece of card (Do Not use a cloth or cotton bud etc) very GENTLY with not too much pressure wipe the heads on the side of the head drum (the round center silver object) DO NOT apply too much pressure as you can damage the heads easily, wait a few minutes for the fluid to dry then try to play a tape.
sorry to say that none.no trip button for that.i assumed that the magnetic strip of the tape is already wind up inside.you'll need to open the unit up and gently rotate the flywheel of the tape player until you can open the door of the tape compartment.no need to force or it will just break.
If even the sound aside from the video is not reproduced on the TV, then your description "connect" indicates that the TV is not set to receive the audio/video signals from the VCR. Initially, pls try:
set the TV to Channel 3 (or 4); or
set the TV to A/V, Video 1 or Aux 1.
Additionally, you need to confirm how the VCR is hooked to the TV unit, bu a single coaxial cable or 3 cables with RCA connectors (yellow, red & white).
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
I work at the History Channel and have a VHS that had the same troubles. I need it desperately for the show I am working on. I tapped it on a table fast forwarded it and presto! Tape fixed, crisis averted. Thank you, Thank you, thank you.
The idler wheel (that only drives the tape in play or scan modes) is
slipping too much (very common problem). Try verify this by
putting the tape in play then immediately press the fast fwd or rewind
buttons to scan the tape. On older machines, the idlers used
rubber friction tires - on newer ones, a clutch. Either replace
the tire or increase the spring tension on the clutch.
Hope Ya Fix It.
Soution #1 get nice but cheep VHS " rewind " macine.
2nd. Some machines have a special rubber wheel in the center, between the left [ take up or rewind ] & right [ play\record ] assemble. VERY diffiult to repair if u don't know what u are doing.
3rd. Find & REplace EVERY rubber band that u find in the machine.
