Question about HP Compaq Presario V2000 Notebook
You need to press either F2 or Del on boot up and enter the bios, go into the advanced menu and there will be a listing similair to HDD s.m.a.r.t enabled, turn this off and then save settings and reboot, this should stop the reboots and boot as normal, but back up any docs etc as you will need to replace the drive.

I have fixed this temporarily by going into Device Manager, finding Com Port 1, right clicking on it to disable it (you get a warning message), then immediately re-enabling it (right clicking on it and selecting 'enable'). This fixes the problem until the next reboot. Still looking for a permanent fix.
