I just got this laptop last week. runs windows vista home premium. I activated streets and trips 2009 (pre installed) with the software key. I booted the program up and tried it out, everything worked fine.
tried using it again yesterday and got this error message "your registry settings for this application were not copied correctly. to correct these settings, run setup again for this application from the location where you originally installed it."
I've updated the gps drivers (per tech support from sony) which fixed nothing. I've uninstalled, cleaned the registry, defragged, and reinstalled, which also fixed nothing. I've searched around and have got no solid answers, nor any that make any sense to me (that work anyways)
-   When I try to run the program which had worked fine for a month or so I get the following error
"your registry settings for this application were not copied correctly. To correct these settings, run Set up again for this application from the location where you originally installed it."
Which I did and then got an error saying that file data.msi was missing-   pomegranatep
I had the same problem with the registry and markiepaul's advice was very helpful. I did all that he said, but I had to set all users as "administrator" in the compatibily area and unchecked everything. Then S&T finally started and wanted the product code. I must have installed and uninstalled 10 times, edited the registry and several other ops that I can't remember. Hope this helps. Many thanks markiepaul.
Hi, go to the "streets.exe" file in the program folder, right-click it and go to "Properties". Click the "Compatiblity" tab and uncheck "Run this program...". Try it now. It's what I had to do.

Tells me that its looking at a network location that isn't there. Asks if I want to use the CD, but I downloaded the product from microsoft.com. I tried "repair" at microsoft.com, but when I went to install I got the same errror. I did a search on my computer for any file named data.msi but came up with notthing. The file that my computer is pointing to when i tries to launch is a temp file. I checked on the suggested solution - going to the compatibility tab and unchecking "run program....: but it was already unchecked.

Also, I haven't heard any voice or commands as of yet, don't know if voice is working. This is a download from Microsoft as an update to 2008. It is on a Dell Inspiron 15 64 bit system running vista.
