This Laptop when either powered by battery or through power adapter powers on, ie the power button lights up and the three fans on the underside of the Laptop start working. The light to the RW-DVD also comes on.The note book does not boot up. The screen does not come on either. After the note book has been powered on the middle fan which cools the processor stops after about 2 seconds, whereas the other two cooling fans continue working. I removed one of the panels to the back of the laptop and I have cleaned all the heatsinks to the notebook which are for processor, graphics card chipset and motherboard chipset. I also checked to see if the processor had been damaged by heat and found that there was NO OUTWARD SIGN THAT THE PROCESSOR HAD BURNED OUT. I would also like to point out after I powered on the note book I had to remove the battery and the power adapter to get the notebook to power down. I have not found any other way to power down the notebook. Could Someone please help me find out what is wrong, Thanks Ian
Can you get into the bios at setup and reset it to default settings.....the CPU cannot burn out what happens if it overheats it just shuts down. I dont think its a hardware issue because you said youhad to shut it down by removing the battery and the adapter you shut it down I imagine by holding down the power on button?. When you have to do that its a software problem.
