A technician is responsible in fixing it and expect to spend some money, a couple hundered bucks.
To never have this problem again, may I suggest you install a 1000VA AVR UPS. It woule be a very good Idea. More and more TV's get blown away, shorted, and power supply burn up with out a UPS.
Now you can use this device. It has a electromegnetic switch and it kills the power when the surge hits. It monitors the power, then lets it through with all is well. $39.95
