What gauge speaker wire use for yamaha R-v905 Receiver

The usual gauges range from 18 to 16 with one limiting factor being the ability of the receiver and speaker terminals to handle larger gauge wire

hi, your problems could be many. this fault can be caused by a weak/old battery, poor quality/wrong gauge of battery B+ cable, very poor level of amp ground connection. this fault can be caused by a faulty rca output/preamp line out circuit from the head unit or crossover unit. this fault can also be caused by the antenna not being properly grounded to the vehicle chassis! best you check out you local installer if you battling with this fault.

I keep getting an error message lamp problem cannot initialize. Hap scanjet 3970. no help from hp. Bob Hall

I guess you know that this is a Mechanical problem, it simply means the lamp which scans the document is not working properly. It's the bar like unit emitting very bright light which moves to and fro just below the scanner's glass.

There are three basic possibilities with this error.
  1. The Lamp itself.
  2. The Flex Cable which connects the Lamp with the Board (motherbaord of the printer)
  3. The connectors and the board itself
First, open it apart the check the scanner and remove the Lamp, now reconnect it after cleaning the connectors, contact points and the interfaces with cotton dipped in alcohol or spirit or acetone. Place it properly on it's position and power on the printer, check whether the error is still displaying or not. No positive outcome? Then switch off the machine and disconnect it, check the continuity of the flex cable, if it's alright and you see no continuity problem, then the problem is with the lamp or with the board or connectors, during this situation, you'll need another spare to check the issues so that you can find out the problem.

If there's continuity problem and you find it fault, replacing the cable will fix the problem.

On the other hand for connectors, you need to do it very carefully and look every connector points with great effort if you can see any bent or twisted among them, if you are sure that there's nothing to do with it, the the problem must be from the Board which is not as easy as we think could be repaired. You can replace it, while there a problem, we can't find the spare, and so it will be difficult but you could possibly get the one from a Repairing shop or Servicing Center.

*Warning*: If you know how to do all these things, just go ahead or else, please take it to a Service Center or call a Tech and get it repaired. Without proper knowledge, you may damage it if in case it could be easily fixable.

I wish you Good Luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Buy the jack from a local store, cut of the broken jack. Unscrew the new jack, pass the jack cable through the boot and strip the cable. If the colour code of the cable pair is black and black with white strip, solder the black with white strip to the center of jack and the black able to the other provision by the side of the jack. Screw the boot back to the jack and connect to your system.

Max cable lenght for cat 6e cable

The cable standard provides performance of up to 250 MHz and is suitable for 10BASE-T / 100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T / 1000BASE-TX (Gigabit Ethernet). It is expected to suit the 10GBASE-T (10Gigabit Ethernet) standard, although with limitations on length if unshielded Cat 6 cable is used. Category 6 cable can be identified by the printing on the side of the cable sheath.

Cat5e is suitable for 10/100/1000baseT ethernet for 100 meters, when properly installed.
Cat 6 is also good for 10 gig ethernet for 37 meters, but that is pretty short, unless just in a server room.
There is no Cat 6e, but Cat 6A will be good for 10/100/1000/10GbaseT ethernet for 100 meters.
Unshielded Twisted Pair has no ground shield around the wires. It is the standard in the US, where most network standards were defined. There are extensions to the standards to allow for the more common in Europe, Shielded Twisted Pair.
Some Cat-6 cables are too large and may be difficult to attach to 8P8C connectors without a special modular piece and are technically not standard compliant. If components of the various cable standards are intermixed, the performance of the signal path will be limited to that of the lowest category. The maximum allowed length of a Cat-6 cable is 100 meters (330 ft) when used for 10/100/1000baseT and 37 meters (120 ft) when used for 10GbaseT. This applies for UTP cables only. Shielded Cat 6 and Cat 7 cables are capable of 100m.....sodeep

We are been told to use cat 6 on a project

Shielded cabling, of one type or another, has been the preferred cabling infrastructure in many global markets for many years. Cables described as foil screened unshielded twisted-pair (F/UTP) and fully shielded cables with an overall braid screen plus individual foil shielded twisted pairs (S/FTP) are now gaining popularity in markets where unshielded twisted-pair (UTP) cabling has traditionally been the most common solution.
This rise in adoption is tied to the publication of the IEEE standard known as 802.3an 10GBASE-T and this emerging application's sensitivity to noise from adjacent cabling. This noise from adjacent cabling is known as alien crosstalk. Screened and fully shielded 10 Gb/s cabling systems, such as category 6A F/UTP and category 7 S/FTP, are all but immune to the alien crosstalk that presents problems for category 6A UTP cabling. These cabling systems can help reduce the size and cost of pathway spaces due to their smaller diameters.
Even as cabling installers and their clients increasingly enjoy these benefits, confusion surrounding the bonding and grounding of screened and shielded systems has caused some to avoid them. This concern is unfounded, as advances in screened and shielded cabling systems have simplified bonding and grounding methods tremendously. Today, the installation and bonding and grounding/earthing of F/UTP and S/FTP cabling systems requires little additional effort and expertise over UTP installations.
